February 5, 200422 yr Hey Guys,Was flying up to SEA tonight and had this problem happen. See pic below. Plane was at 22K and descending, panel shows 49K and climbing. Any suggestions?http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/61267.jpg
February 5, 200422 yr Jim,PMFJI, but I think his baro pressure is set correctly. I can see he's flying the PMDG 737NG and I can just make out the green "STD" displayed below the ALT Tape, which means the STD button was pressed at some point and baro pressure was set at 29.92.If only the STD button had been pressed passing 18,000 and pressure not reset to 29.92, you would see two lines in green below the ALT tape, the upper one reading "STD", with the selected pressure, e.g. 30.54 below it. If STD button had not been pushed, you would see a yellow box below the ALT Tape with a yellow "STD" and the selected baro pressure in it.Best RegardsMax (Bern, LSZB)http://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004betateam.jpg http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/800driver.jpg
February 5, 200422 yr Thanks for that info. I was squinting to read stuff as it was! Not really sure then why this happened. Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support
February 5, 200422 yr Hi JimI can confirm that I have also expereinced these weired changes in baro pressure.Whiles flying 1 can see the baro changes as teh palne climb or desend a few meters 20-50 as 1 is flying through different weather cells, but on few ocassions baro changed so drastic that whiles cruising at say FL350 the next momoment all hell brakes loose, your overspeeding and finding your self at FL580 . Plane stalling , I have been able to fly out of these cells a few times with GREAT difficulty desending back to say FL350 to find my self at 5800 FT ASL the next moment.I have not been able to find out how to cure this yet, but next time this happen i am gonna try chnging my baro pressure trying too fool the AP in think it still at FL350, I dont know if this will be possible , but this is a idea I will try the next time this happens to me.Why and how this happen I have no idea. oh yeah and when this happen i noticed that the ouside Temp changed from say -26'C to 20'C then when all gets back to normal temp is back at -26'C.The figures are all approxemate as I did not make notes at time when this happened, was to busy try to safe my 13hour flight from ending up in the ocean.RegardsJannier Regards Jannie Roelofse Flight1 Software Project Manager
February 5, 200422 yr Jim,I've never had it happen when I was using just the PMDG plane, I usually dont fly another planes then the PMDG but it seems to only happen with AS2004. I will try the baro trick. I have had this happen before but it usually corrects itself fairly rapidly, last night I had to quit AS2004, then clear all weather in FSUIPC.
