February 28, 200422 yr There are files that came with FSUIPC like "TrafficLook.exe, weatherset2.exe, and weatherset.exe and trafficLook.ini. I don't think I need the weather set.exe since it appears to relate to FS2000 Is there a site that will be more detailed and specific in the use of these products. I refuse to pay for FSUIPC because I did not know I needed it before hand when I bought active sky from justflight.com, therefore I will probably not get any help from the authors site.
February 28, 200422 yr TRAFFICLOOK.EXE Version 1.54 February 2004=============================================== ******* FOR FS2002 and FS2004 ONLY *******This program is provided to demonstrate the data available through theFSUIPC interface for FS's A.I. generated traffic. It can be rundirectly on the PC running FS, or on a separate PC under WideFS.Note that the "State", "From", "To" and "Rwy" displays will only showdata when TrafficLook is used with FS2004. The latter three needFSUIPC 3.113 or later. The User's own aircraft is listed first, always. Then the data for A.I.aircraft appears, by default sorted into nearest traffic first. To sorton any of columns just click on the column headings. You can resize thewidth of any column and move the columns around by dragging in the headings.Whatever you do is remembered in the TrafficLook.ini file so it is effectnext time you run it as well. Two completely different arrangements can bemade, one for Ground and one for Airborne traffic. The example INI filesupplied allows TrafficLook to be run twice -- put the second one into"Ground" mode and you will get two windows side by side showing the moreinteresting data. The INI is suited to a 1280x1024 resolution screen.Choose whether to show airborne or ground traffic only in the File menu. Youcan run two copies of TrafficLook side-by-side, one for each, and see thecraft move from one to the other upon landing or taking off. With the order determined by Slot number the aircraft will stay fixed in placein the list, till they depart and are erased by FS or land. (Only traffic inthe air is listed). The list can be printed, but you will need to choose a Landscape orientation. To list only tail numbers, not airlines and flights, you need to change theparameter in FSUIPC's INI file. In the [General] section find TCASid=Flightand change this to "Tail". Tail numbers are shown by FS2002 in the views, whenthe labelling option is selected. The full list of options here is: Flight for airline+flight, or tail number, as available (default) Tail for tail numbers only Type for the "ATC type", generally only the Make Title from the aircraft title (in the .CFG file), truncated to 17 characters Type+ for the type as above, truncated if necessary, plus the last 3 characters of the tail number NOTE on supplied TrafficLook.INI file=====================================As an example of a possible arrangement, suitable for FS2004 and a 1280 x 1024secreen resolution or better, try the included TrafficLook.ini file. Put itin the same folder as TrafficLook.exe. Then run TrafficLook TWICE, changingone to show airborne and the other ground traffic. You will get two narrowerlistings side by side with some of the more interesting inforamtion.-----------Pete Dowson===========WEATHERSET2.EXE Version 1.40 14th December 2003===================================================An FS2004 weather manipulation program, usingthe New Weather interface in FSUIPC (version3.049b onwards).Freeware by Peter Dowson.NOTE that this is primarily devised as a testprogram for the FSUIPC New Weather interface. It is not guaranteed to work in all circumstances, nor will it necessarily be maintained. It isquite interesting and even useful, however.==================================================TO USE:==================================================Ensure FSUIPC.DLL version 3.049b or later is placedinto the modules folder of FS2004.Run FS2004. When it is up and running, runWEATHERSET2.EXE.WEATHERSET2 will stay running if FS2004 isterminated, and will optionally re-connect toFSUIPC when FS2004 is restarted. See the FlightSim menu for AutoConnect, Connect andDisconnect options. You can run WEATHERSET2 on a Networked PC, usingWideFS version 5.991 or later to link toFS2004 and FSUIPC.==================================================FACILITES==================================================WEATHERSET2 provides the following facilities:READING weather:1. Reads all weather data from FS2004 ... by default the weather at the user aircraft. To display weather at any Weather Station, press the Return key in the "Station" section and enter the ICAO (or GLOB for Global). To read the weather at any location on Earth, do the same but enter a valid Latitude and Longitude instead of an ICAO identifier. To return to the aircraft weather, do the same but enter nothing. When reading weather at an ICAO Wx station, if there are active AI aircraft with allocated runways, the arrival and departure runways allocated to traffic are shown as well.2. Provides manual or automatic (periodic) refresh of displayed data, with the automatic refresh defaulting. (see File menu).WRITING weather3. Provides a facility to clear all weather. This also resets Dynamic Weather to stop changes. It is a good idea to do this before trying to apply any other changes as FS2004's morphing, interpolation and dynamic features will otherwise give quite unexpected results! and for a selected Weather Station (or "GLOB"):4. Allows individual layers in any weather section be be Deleted (use the Delete key) or Modified (use the Return key). Select the appropriate entry first, via the layer numbers and either a Mouse, or Tab between sections then cursor up and down. note that Altitudes cannot be modified. You have to delete and insert (see 9.)5. New layers can be inserted before a selected layer by pressing the Insert key and filling in the details. In order to allow layers to be added at the end of a list, a dummy entry is always present at the end.====================================================Pete Dowson, December 2003--------------------------
