Crash at 41,000 feet

Featured Replies

There I was in my leerjet at FL410 flying through KZLC bound for KMSP when all of a sudden I see my altimeter jump to 50,000 and then I crash from aircraft stress. That's one hell of a windshear, is there any way to stop this from happening?

Hi ThereYes I am also been looking for a cure, and reason why this happens. It is not really windshear but for some strange reason there seems to be a VERY drastic change in baro pressure in the atmosphere.I have tried to fool the system by changing the planes baro settings/qnh this seems to help for a while till it changes back to normal, then you have to quickly reset altimeter baro pressure to 29.92 /1013.This happens very seldom and i could as of yet not pin point the cuase or nature of this myself. It is a terrible experience when it happens in the PSS Airbus range, cause it places the plane in and totally uncontrollable state, and you really have to act very fast to catch the situation. The best is to hit the pause button, change the altimeter settings, un-pause and then try to recover the plane , and then same thing again when qnh return to 1013.Dont know if Jim or Damien can spread some light on this?RegardsJannier
