July 2, 200421 yr When using s previously downloaded archive file (no on-line updates), and the sim time exceeds the TAF period (or preceeds the METAR/TAF time), how does AS deal with this? Does it force all times prior to METAR/TAF time to the METAR wx, adnd use the last TAF period for times that are beyond the TAF period? Thanks,Bruce. ASEL, Instrument. KBJC, Colorado.
July 2, 200421 yr Hi Bruce,If TAF processing is checked ON, here is how things should work:TAF-----------METAR----------TAFAS will use the report closest to the time. If you were to take a 24 hour flight you would get the report closest to the time, it would change to the other report and then back again. In a 24 hour period I believe that the METAR would be valid for 6 hours and the TAF for 18.I know this looks more confusing then what it is, but it's the best I can do online!Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
