Little help please...when I use microsoft paint and repaint the bitmap file and it looks all good and then try to add it to the model it comes out all chrome. What am I doing wrong?Kilstorm

Hi Kilstorm,I think the choice of paint programs is what's hosing you. The problem comes in when you save the texture out in imageTool... you've got to convert it from DXT3 to a 32-bit format (I usually choose Targa) for repainting. I don't think Paint will open targa files, however. Most of us painters use either Adobe Photoshop or Jasc PaintShop Pro. If you need a freeware option, the GIMP might be a good choice. It's available from http://www.gimp.org/win32/ and is a passably good editor I hear.Just be sure when you're done editing that you save in a 32-bit format and then reformat to a DXT3 in ImageTool.Hope that helps!
