IFR flight in FS2004 weather settings via Active Sky

Featured Replies

If you wish to set up an IFR flight in FS2004 where you only want 'minimum IFR visibility' for the flight and final approach, do you have to use the default FS2004 weather settings or can you manually set an appropriate overcast setting via ActiveSky? Peter Hayes

Hi Peter,It is possible to edit the current_wx_snapshot.txt file to achieve this. You might need to edit many of the stations along the way and all the stations at your destination. We realize that this is a lot of work and have developed a easier, quicker system, which will be a part of ASV.Using the FS04 themes and AS is not recommended. AS will not be able to control much in that siutation. I hope this answers your questions!Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg

Jim,Good news about ASV. I have modified some files to customize the weather. It is a lot of work to modify all the stations the need to be changed for one fix. Will you offer custom weather? Can

Hi,We are calling them weather templates. They are specific METARS that can be modified and applied in a number of ways. And you can create your own, either from real world weather, or from scratch. It is easy when tou see the screen, its just a bit hard to describe using words.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
