Reporting of wind gusts

Featured Replies

Is ASV properly reporting wind gusts to FS?I ask this because the decoder window does not show the gust value and, more importantly, Radar Contact 4 is not reporting wind gusts when it provides ATIS. I checked with another tester (who is using a different weather program) and RC4 does report wind gusts.BTW: I also saw this problem with AS4.5 just before converting over to ASV - I forgot about it until now.Let me know so that I can investigate further if necessry on the Radar Contact side.Thanks.-michael

I just did a flight last night from Denver to Wichita. KICT was reporting winds at 14 with gusts to 24. I can verify that ASV does handle the gusts ;-) I was using the FeelThere ERJ-145 which does not have the best autopilot. I had to disconnect the AP and hand fly the approach due to the gusts. Had a good one at about 50 AGL. Just glad KICT had a long runway. FUN! Mike
