Windows Services

Featured Replies

I'm trying to minimize the number of running services before I start an FS9 session. I use a program called "End It All" to accomplish this. I have noticed that ASV will not download weather after I close services. Is ASV dependent on one of the Windows Services?

You may have accidentally stopped your connection to the internet, Why not try FSAutostart authored by Ken Salter? It has directions for use and allows you to shut down all of the unnecessary programs and services that are running on your machine. In addition, it can defrag your memory and restart everything after your flight has concluded. Available here in the library:http://library.avsim.net/download.php?DLID=57040

Thanks Jim. Sounds like a more controlled approach. I'll give it a try.

All the svchost.exe services are required for internet connection.Maybe your program killed one of them.Unnecessary services should be disabled via control panel, and you should know what you are doing.Uninformed killing of running processes is not advisable.
