July 10, 200520 yr Hi, Quick question, I have ASV set to update weather after my flight has been loaded. The software even states that its waiting for me to load my flight. For some reason, though, it decides to start updating before I start the flight... How can I prevent this??Adam
July 10, 200520 yr Hi,Start ASV paused.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
July 12, 200520 yr Hi,If you manually submit them from the AE window before starting FS.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
July 15, 200520 yr Hi, Will that also pick ICS clouds and let me submit them before I unpause it? Or will I not be able to mix and match ICS and Pause on startup and me refreshing after my flight is loaded like I used to do with 4.5? My understanding is that if the textures are updated while flight sim is running I have to close it and load it again. Yet ICS doesnt submit its selections until its unpaused (I unpause it after my flights loaded so it doesnt update heforehand like its been doing)? Thats where I'm confused. Thanks for the previous response! Adam
July 15, 200520 yr No, ASV must be unpaused. There have been suggestions for a suspend/pause button to use before starting FS04.So right now:Start ASV unpaused.Load and process plan.Start FS.Move in FS to your departing point.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
July 15, 200520 yr Hi, Thanks for the quick reply. It wouldnt be so bad if it actually waited for the flight to be loaded.. sometimes it does.. and sometimes it doesnt. Sometimes it starts the update as soon as I load a flight plan.. sometimes it updates when I start to load a flight. (with the pause at startup off). It doesnt seem to want to wait till the flight is loaded and ready. For now I'll just not use the ICS. Hopefully this will get sorted out. Its one of the main reasons I upgraded. Adam
July 15, 200520 yr Is pausing it that important just curious? I usually load flight plan via new route then go directly to fs9 create a flight screen and dont wait untill it finishes loading its too slow so i just set myself up at the gate and then it processes very fast.
July 15, 200520 yr Hi Joe,To me, no it's not. I don't even mind that ASV updates 4 times:1. On start.2. On flight plan load.3. On FS04 start.4. On switching to my flight plan start point. For others this is too much and this is OK so I am going to make the Suspend/pause suggestion.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
July 15, 200520 yr Hi, Actually the only problem with it being paused is not updating the clouds.. you could make an "update ICS clouds" button that calculates and updates the ICS and textures and then pauses before the acutally weather write. Or I could be wrong. As far as it updating 3-4 times, flight sim with all the scenery, mesh and plane addons entails lengthy load and setup times as it is. Thats why I use pause on startup. If it actually only wrote the weather when flight sim was ready for it.. it wouldnt be a problem and I wouldnt have to use pause at all. Sorry for making such a case out of it and I appreciate you looking into what could can be done to remedy the situation... you guys rock in customer support. AdamP.S. Okay.. your list states the times that it initializes.. this I dont mind. But for some reason ASV is not waiting for my flight be loaded and ready and it tries to dump the weather at the wrong time, forcing it to dump it 2 or 3 times. Thats quite time consuming.
