August 4, 200520 yr Hi,Could someone please explain to me how upper layer clouds are reported and how ASV generates them. The reason I ask is that I live about 25 miles South West of EGNV (Durham Tees Valey in the UK) and on the afternoon of 2nd August at about 14:30Z I was out walking my dog and I noticed that the skies above me were filled with a most amazing display of cirrus clouds, above layers of cumulus and stratus. Several aircraft passed over from EGNV and EGNT and I thought that the view from up there must be equally marvellous. As soon as I got home I downloaded the weather file for 14:00Z and fired up FS, guess what? not a single cirrus in sight, just a few boring cumulus. Is this a reporting or a generation issue. Many thanks,Pete.
August 4, 200520 yr Hi,The cirrus are generated from conditions, not from reports. You can view the conditions by looking at the ics_params.txt file in the AE folder.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
