September 26, 200520 yr Hello there!I've got this litle problem and I think it is related with ASV when trying to updating and reloading the weather while flying. I have a broadband connection and it never disconnected from the internet that I know so far. Althougth, I have been doing many long-haul flights with the PMDG744 and last night I was flying from EGLL to VHHH and the connection just dropped down. After that occurrence I just had to check back often the connection by alt-tabbing. And I must say that is a bit of annoying because I was affraid the connection will drop again and no more updates to the weather. So, if there's anyone with the same problem, or if there is some knowledge about this I would appreciate some insight.Specs:P4 3.2GHz PsctGeForce6800 Ultra2GB RAMASV Enhanced(b360)Many thanks in advance and best regards from Portugal! ;)P.S.- I free some memory by shutting down the antivirus and some TSRs but I leave the firewall on (Sygate Pro) Pedro Lima"The sky is the home of birds... we are just guests... guests of honor" Peter Besenyei"...redundancy is very important in aviation; that is why airplanes have 2 wings instead of 1!" September 26, 200520 yr Hi,Sorry you are having trouble. What do you mean your connection just dropped down? The download speed from the ASV server slows? It doesn't connect to the server? Are you getting any error messages in ASV?Feel free to geive us a little more information and we'll go from there!Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
September 26, 200520 yr Author Hi Jim!Sorry, but I'm affraid I messed up with my fair english. What I meant to say is that I suspect that ASV is disconnecting me from the internet. It only happens when I'm flying with ASV in online mode. I have broadband that is allways connected. When I said 'dropped down' I meanted to say 'disconnect'.Best regards. September 27, 200520 yr Hi,How do you know that you are disconnected from the Internet?Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
September 27, 200520 yr Author Hi Jim.The last time it happened, as I told you, was a flight of about 11 hours. I was flying and simply did not see the update infos (on top, in green) anymore, so I suspected. I alt-tabbed and confirmed that I was no more connected to the internet. It happens apparently only when I'm flying with ASV as I had several other events like this. When I'm flying whitout ASV I have no problems.I can leave my computer connected to the internet for days with no problems.Best regards. September 27, 200520 yr Hi,In ASV what is your Update Interval set at? So do think that your whole Internet connection is not working or just ASV? Can you surf the web when this happens?Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
September 27, 200520 yr Author Hi jim.My update intervals are set to 10 minutes. The whole internet is not working as the dial-up icon disappears from the tray. I have to click again in the ISP dial-up icon placed in the desktop to reconnect.Dont forget in the initial post, I mentioned that while flying I left the firewall on (sygate pro). Dont know if the problem rely on that.Best regards. September 27, 200520 yr Hi,Don't turn anything off but double check the settings to make sure that ASV is not getting blocked by anything. Has any of your security software been updated lately? Sometimes after an update you need to re-configure things.Do you log on through a proxy server?Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
September 29, 200520 yr Author Hi Jim!Only the antivurus (McAfee) has been updated frequentlly. But, has I told you, I shut the antivirus shield off while flying on FS to free some memory. Only the firewall is kept on. I'll try to fly again a long haul when I get time and watch if the problem still remains with build 363.Regards.
