October 11, 200520 yr I have 3Dclouds set to 100%, but they dont look 3D to me, any suggestions. Im using AS5 enhanced. Mips enabled + dxt3 textures, and render to texture enabled.OHN
October 11, 200520 yr That's a very nice screen shot BTW;The non 3D clouds there are the status clouds and although they have no depth they are rendered to look 3D from a distance. These stratus clouds are part of the 3D type clouds that are part of the cumulus01.bmp cloud file.If you reduce the 3D percentatage you will get reduced quality that look a lot less 3D and these are called imposters. It's a little confusing but the best way to think of it only the cumulus puffy type clouds are the real volumetric clouds that you can fly through.Status clouds can look and feel very thin and wispy in game and probably do not represent a particulary convincing stratus cloud. Thats why aSV gives an option to select cumulus over stratus as an option. It may however, reduce frame rates slightly.
October 11, 200520 yr Author Thx for the answer Peter. I will try an select the cumulus over the stratus in the options menu and see if my system can handle it.Ole
