October 16, 200520 yr Hi,What do you mean? I am not sure what you mean by "active runways in my flightplans".Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg

October 17, 200520 yr Hi,Are you refering to the runway observations? If so, then that is part of the data that the station supplies to us. We have no control over that! Usually that data is included when conditions vary from one runway to another. Here, it looks like some fog has caused the visibility to differ from one runway to the next so the METAR is reflecting this. Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
October 17, 200520 yr Thanks for that jim but it would be great if we could receive active runways all the time sometime ago i bought this up as a suggestion .............regards robin
October 17, 200520 yr Hi,Those are not active runways. They are runway reports and we have no control over them! Most of the time they are not even included in a METAR report.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
October 18, 200520 yr The runway is only reported when it is connected to an IRVR measurement in foggy conditions. This just gives the visibilty as measured by the IRVR (instrumented Runway Visual Range) which is normally reported when the obeserved visibility is less than 1500m (sometimes higher for long runways). The only other time when runways are in METARs are when the braking action coefficient is measured and sent for particular runways (usually in winter). The runway part just lets you know which runway the measurements (either visibility or braking action) refer toHope this helps ;-)
