December 7, 200520 yr I noticed in one of the videos of ActiveSky and in some screenshots that there is blue sky visible on the horizon of most overcast pictures. I remember this being an annoying problem in FS 2002, where there was a thick blue horizon even with full overcast. Is this a problem with ActiveSky in FS 2004 or is it just in these particular shots? The upper border of the pictures shows "FS'04 CofF". I have not experienced this problem in FS04. It appears to have been fixed. Thanks. Regards, Tom
December 7, 200520 yr Hi Tom,With a high overcast, a short cloud draw distance, and unlimited visibility this still could happen in FS04.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
December 9, 200520 yr Author Jim, Thanks for the help. I previously posted regarding the stutters I get with FSMeteo whenever it updates the weather and was told on this forum that Activesky runs really nice with no stutters or pauses. I was told by FSM tech support that it is my ATI video card that is the reason and that I should get rid of it. Ironically, when I got the 9800 XT 256 meg card all my previous stuttering and pausing went away and FS ran much better. Besides, I spent over $400 on the card. Do you know if the ATI cards work alright with ACtivesky with respect to stuttering and pausing? If it does, you probably will have a new customer.:-) Thanks. Tom
December 9, 200520 yr Hi,Well, ATI is the first choice of many, because the ATI cards do render the weather better than other cards. In fact I have been using ATI card for many years in my gaming computers. Finally, I use that very same video card and have never seen stuttering/pausing.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
