FlightPlan Loading another perspective

Featured Replies

Hi Jim and TeamI have read with interest the post re ASVe and using weather OFFline. I only ever use the program ON-line (update every 10 mins) and in MANUAL mode ie I use FSE for clouds, water, etc. This is how I start everything1) Load ASVe (if I know which airfield I will be flying from I use the "FETCH" mode.2) Load FSE (favorites/randomizer) gives auto start of FS2004.3) Clear weather with FSUIPC4) Create or Load a flight plan or just take-off as the mood takes me!I no longer bother to go back the ASVe to import the flight plan from FS2004 as it seems to update the weather just fine. Am I missing any functionality this way? (I have also tried it the conventional way ie importing the FP via ASVe and refreshing etc, switching back to FS9, but I see little difference in weather details between the two methods.)If I always have to import the FS9 flight plan into ASVe in order for it "work" properly, how do you go on if you fly several flights in quick succession from different areas in the world without closing FS2004 between each flight? Do you have to import each FP separately into ASVe ie before each flight? In my case I have found that ASVe "automatically" switches to the new starting point without having to import any data and en route updates to the nearest weather station. Thanks guys for a great experience in flight simmingPeter Hayes

Hi Peter,Thanks for the words! In a nutshell I would say No, you are not missing out on anything. Because you are using FE, you probably have AE set to All Manual, so that eliminates the specific need for a flight plan. As I mentioned in that other thread it is OK to manually enter the data if you wish, in order to get a general picture of your weather.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
