December 23, 200520 yr I followed the installation instructions to a T and have now completed the process succesfully. However, I noticed that my FS9/modules directory still contains the old ASV folder with some residual files and folders:"ActiveEnvironment" (folder with "FS_Texture_Backup" and "Themes" folders, plus "action.log")"SavedWeather" (folder)"Voice" (folder with "Voice1" and "Voice2" folders)"as2004.log" (file)"ASV.log" (file)"wx-export.met" (file)Can these all be deleted, or does ASv6 still access the ASV folder for something?
December 23, 200520 yr Hello,After installing ASV6, I removed ASV and deleted all remaining ASV folders and files without any problem afterwards. December 23, 200520 yr Hi,Go ahead and delete that whole ASV folder. None of those files are needed and none are recorded in your system registry so it is safe to delete.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
December 24, 200520 yr Another quick related question....can the "ASVE Upgrede from AS2004.5 Installer" and the ASV v6 Install Unwrapper" be removed through the control panel with no adverse effect?
December 24, 200520 yr Hi,The AS2004.5 Installer can be removed.Backup the Install Unwrapper folder off your machine before removing it. You would need that in case you need to reinstall ASv6.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
December 24, 200520 yr Thanks Jim,Just so that I am completely clear, the AS2004.5 installer can be removed, but the Unwrapper folder should be backed up. Where might I ask is the location of this folder? Or is that also considered where the full ASv6 setup.exe file is?Bruce
