March 2, 200620 yr Why is it that with probe heat on the speed still freezes up? And is iceing actually simulated, if I fly into ice without anti ice on can the plane eventually stall?
March 2, 200620 yr Hi,I have the same effect with several aircrafts. Although I have the probes heated, sometimes (but not always) the speed goes to zero during takeoff. If I turn off an immediately on the probe heater, then everything is ok again. Don't know, if this effect comes from ASV icing option or if this is a FS2004 "feature". No real solution but a workaround in such a situation. Perhaps someone of ActiveSky team could comment on this.RegardsReinhard
March 2, 200620 yr Hi All,With all the different panels and planes out there we don't know what works and what doesn't.The safest method is to use the Shift/H keys and not always flip on a switch. In some panels it is a dummy sitch. Also, make sure to do this long before entering icing conditions, it is not an instant warm up.Sometime just cycling through heat off then back on can clear things.Structural icing is modeled in FS04 and yes you can stall if you do not take proper actions. If you own the registered version of FSUIPC you can adjust the icing effect. If all else fails you can turn icing off in ASv6.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6...development.jpg http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpg http://www.jdtllc.com/images/rcv4bannersupporter.jpg
March 3, 200620 yr The heat is on for the entire flight always and doesnt make a difference. I can assaure you that with the planes I fly it is not a dummy switch. It really gets anoying when I cant utilize ASV's icing simulation.
March 4, 200620 yr Hi Mike,Are you using the registered version of FSUIPC? Let's try to trouble-shoot this for you!Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6...development.jpg http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpg http://www.jdtllc.com/images/rcv4bannersupporter.jpg
March 4, 200620 yr OK and what is the icing level set at?Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6...development.jpg http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpg http://www.jdtllc.com/images/rcv4bannersupporter.jpg
March 4, 200620 yr Hi,What plane(s) and panel?Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6...development.jpg http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpg http://www.jdtllc.com/images/rcv4bannersupporter.jpg
March 5, 200620 yr Here is a list of the planes:PSS 777/A320MDMAX Md-80Possibly PMDG 747 but not sure 100%Level-D 767
March 5, 200620 yr Hi,Those are pretty common payware planes and I don't know of any other reports.Disable icing through ASv6 and see what happens.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6...development.jpg http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpg http://www.jdtllc.com/images/rcv4bannersupporter.jpg
March 5, 200620 yr Disableing Icing does work, but then I cant utilize the icing system of asv, it adds quite a bit of realism into a sim when there are consiqunces for icing, is there any other option?
March 5, 200620 yr Hi,I understand! I just wanted to see what would happen without the option running. Go ahead and turn it back On, then go into FSUIPC and click on the Defaut Settings button and the Weather Settings Off button. Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6...development.jpg http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpg http://www.jdtllc.com/images/rcv4bannersupporter.jpg
March 15, 200620 yr I just got a chance to try out the ice again and tunring weather off in fsuipc didnt seem to work.
