AV6-making it happen

Featured Replies

I was one of those accidental converts to AV. I bought AVWXre, which I think is version 5, at a discount in a local shop. I have enjoyed it, although never really understanding its operation. I have just acquired AV6 at full price and have a significant difficulty. It will not connect to the web. I still have the previous version loaded and it connects to the internet, but not AV6. It is not a firewall problem, as it does tell me it is connecting, and then tells me a connection is not available but wait until the next update. Is there an internet setting that may be a problem? Should I uninstall AV5 first, or is there some obvious step that I have missed? There is also one question that I have been unable to find in the manual or the FAQs for either version. When the Create a Flight box comes up on startup what should I set for the weather options - user defined, real, or saved real;if I recall the three boxes accurately. I have used the real time weather, but I wonder just which weather I have been flying in: FS or AV.

KInd regards,

Hi,I just tried to answer your e-mail, but it bounced back to me so I am glad you also posted here! For the second part you should set the weather theme to User Defined and use FSUIPC to clear the weather. AS will handle things from there.Do you use a proxy server to connect to the Internet? Is Internet Explorer set to work Offline? Look under the File menu nad see if there is a check by "Work Offline". If there is, uncheck this option. Please let us know!Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development TeamActive Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter
