LOWW RMK AUTOGEN

Featured Replies

hello everybody, first time posting here(never had problems with AS) and couldnt find anything regarding my question.since the last two or three weeks i cant get the true weather information for LOWW (home base).mostly it shows at the end RMK AUTOGEN.1 or 2 times out of ten it shows the correct weather at the beginning and at the next update it shows again autogen rmk.yesterday i asked another activesky user online (at loww) about his weather and he replyed that he is wondering too becausehe got the same problems. he also mentioned that sometimes he receives the weather from LOAN instead of LOWW.any idea if i possibly made a mistake or is it a server problem..as far as i figured it out all the other weather infos are correct only LOWW.....thanks for your helphave a nice sundayregardstyron

Hi Tyron,There is a very good explanation for this. Go to http://adds.aviationweather.gov/metars/index.php and fetch the last 36 hours of raw metar. As you can see there is a NIL between each valid metar, and this is causing problems for the server. My guess is that they are sending a NIL report in the same cycle as the valid report and the server ignores this. Damian knows about this problem and I'm sure he's working on a solution.

Hi Jt,thank you very much for your explanation.I thought that I possibly made some unknown setting changes within AS so that the true weather couldnt be precise anymore- but I am still wondering because this problem just occurred in the last 2/3 weeks and never before as far as I remember. Thanks again JTRegards from AustriaTyron
