September 21, 200619 yr Having gone through the pain threshold and avoided making any changes to the AS6 configuration other than ensuring that AS6 and GE Pro are talking to each other as it were, I now find that my baro settings are not being recognised in FS9. I'm using FS2Crew and as part of that program the FO sets the altimeter to the current setting as determined by AS6 Prior to GE Pro instllation this worked perfectly). Now my ATC has the correct setting (using Radar Contact 4) but nothing from the previously working FO in FS2Crew. As GE Pro is the only recent addition I'm pointing the finger there. Trouble is I don't want to go and start messing around inside AS6 as I'm really not sure what to check for this. Thanks
September 21, 200619 yr Hi,Not real sure here. Please post your ASv6.ini file and I'll take a look at your settings to see if something has changed there!Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
September 22, 200619 yr Author Thanks Jim - on sober reflection I'm now convinced that I'm pointing the finger in the wrong direction. Seeing as how Radar Contact correctly states the baro pressure I guess something has gone screwy with my FS2Crew installation.I'll check things out again and get back to you. Thanks again.
September 22, 200619 yr Author Back again Jim - I just tried again. My default location is EGLL and today the pressure was 1005. My Level-D stayed resolutely at 1013. When I manually adjusted it and then clicked 'B' it reverted to 1013, so there seems to be a link missing somewhere.As I said - I've not (knowingly) altered any settings, so I wonder if there's an easy anser.Thanks - here's my ini file://ASv6 configuration file Build 523[General]WindowPosX = 3105WindowPosY = 1305DefaultWeatherFolder = D:Flight Simulator 9ModulesASv6SuppressionCeiling = 10000SurfaceWindLimit = 10FS9Path = D:Flight Simulator 9PersonalAppDataFolder = C:Documents and SettingsGraham K JacksonApplication DataCloudLayerLimit = 5LocalSuppressionRange = 100MinimumVisibility = 0MaximumVisibility = 59LastPlanFolder = C:Documents and SettingsGraham K JacksonMy DocumentsFlight Simulator FilesAutoVasFrequency = 30AutoVasStrength = 30TurbulenceFrequency = 50DefaultStartupLocation = EGLLDefaultGraphicsFullTheme = Random AllDefaultGraphicsCirrusTheme = Random AllAutoSubmitGraphicsTheme = TrueIncreasedWake = FalseDisableWindsAloft = FalseForcePrimaryServer = FalseForceSecondaryServer = FalseGEProAutoSubmit = FalseUseFetchedStationforGEPro = TrueShowDecodedMBasDecimal = FalseSkyOverride = ASGFavorCumulus = FalseForceRoutePressure = FalseForceLowestCeiling = FalseUnpauseOnReadyStatus = FalseDisableWriteThrottle = FalseDisableProcessThrottle = FalseForceTstormsWithCB = TrueAutoSetFSTime = TrueIgnoreFSLocationUntilReady = TrueAutoConvertPlanFiles = TrueAutoRefreshAI = TrueDisableVisGraduation = FalseEnableGEProWideFSMode = FalseExtendedThrottling = FalseForceRouteAloftTemp = FalseOfflinePlayback = FalseEnableVAS = TrueAutoGenVAS = TrueForceDestinationWeatherZone = FalsePreventIcing = TrueOnlineUpdates = TrueExtendedDestinationWindsForce = FalseDisableAllGroundUpdates = FalseGlobalWrites = FalseDepictFS9HazeLayer = FalseExtendTstormLayers = TrueDisableDirectWindControl = FalseVoicePlayback = TrueLocalSuppression = TrueStartupSound = FalseDisableGroundUpdates = FalseUseProxyServer = FalseFogLayerGeneration = FalseUpdateSuppression = TrueOvercastEnhancement = TrueIgnoreFSReadyStatus = TrueFSUIPCWindSmoothing = TrueLimitSurfaceWinds = FalseLimitCloudLayers = TrueAutoGlobalWriteToggle = TrueRainWithTS = TrueDisableUpperLayerGeneration = FalseVisibilitySmoothing = TrueDisableMessages = TrueAutoTimeZoneDetection = TrueUpdateInterval = 10VATSIMData = FalseZuluConversion = 1AloftPredictability = 100WindDriftRate = 0MaxCloudThickness = 10000MinStratusSeparation = 7000TAFProcessing = FalseEnforceVisibilityLimits = TrueWakeTurb = FalseStartPaused = FalseUseSystemTime = TrueDisableCAVOKClouds = FalseProxyAddress = NONE
September 22, 200619 yr Hi,Settings look good. Please try with a default plane and see what happens. What does ATIS give you for pressure?I am trying to see if this is ASv6, FS04, or your add-ons.Please elt us know,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
September 23, 200619 yr Author Hi JimThanks - yes bit the bullet yesterday - uninstalled and reinstalled AS6 (just in case). Tried this morning with the default Cessna and got the same - pressure stuck at the default 2992/1013 when I pressed 'B'. I changed my FS setting to the MS weather engine and the pressure settings changed when I pressed 'B' to the correct reading. Then I rebooted and tried again but this time went and made a cup of tea. When I got back the ATIS had changed from 2992 to 2974 and the weather had loaded OK. So I guess that's fixed the problem. Thanks for staying with me on this :)
September 23, 200619 yr Hi,The problem is that your FS setting should be on Used Defined, not Use MS Weather. Something is not quite right here yet. What does ATIS give you for your pressure after ASv6 has updated? Also, please make sure that ASv6 is not in the middle of the station write process. Wait for that to finish before tuning ATIS or pressing the B key. Please let us know,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
September 23, 200619 yr Author It was definitely on User Defined - one of the 1st things I checked - then of course I reverted to the MS weather and everything worked OK.After the reinstall of AS6 the AS6 and ATIS pressures agree. I can say that definitely before I reinstalled AS6, that the pressure setting hadn't been obtained from AS6 within 30 minutes as the FS2Crew procedure takes that long to get airborne. Now it kicks in after about 2 minutes. Maybe it took that long before as I never bothered to check it in the Level-D as th FO always set it up for me (lazy sob that I am). It was only when it wouldn't set up after 30 minutes that I was aware of the problem.I have the AS6 ini file set up to EGLL as the default location now and I'll heed your advice and wait just that little bit longer. As I said before, the strange thing was that Radar Contact correctly stated the pressure in the ATIS whereas it wasn't feeding through to FS9 - now of course all works correctly. Thanks again. I'll fly the beast again and come back here to report what I find - it may help someone else who suddenly runs into this problem.
