September 29, 200619 yr What is the "official" Hifi Sim position as to whether we should allow the archive weather file to grow continually, or should we occasiionally delete old files? Or is there even an official position at all? Thanks for a great program that really enhances the FS experience. September 29, 200619 yr Hi,Thanks for the words!I hope that by "archived weather files" you mean the saved weather files that you get when clicking on the Save Wx button. Each time you save a file it is saved with a unique title in that one particular file is not growing. Now, the number of saved files may be increasing, but one archived file is not. You can save those files for as long as you wish. They can only be read by our software and continue to be stored on the servers. If you wish to save them, go ahead! Or delete them and pull new ones from the server.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
September 29, 200619 yr Author Hi Jim: That's what I wondered about. Thanks for the reply. Dan George (woodhick)Check out Greenbrier Aero Club, the VA for and about the GA pilot.
October 2, 200619 yr Hi Woodhick, This is what I do generally, because I am a neat freak!:( I fly airline routes, so for the most part fly real weather each time i'm in the 767. I wind up deleting the old archived weather file each time I download a new one. There are certain weather files that just seem so unique, either in the weather patterns, or cloud formations that occasionally I save it as a theme so when I have the whim to just fly a cessna or beaver for pleasure, I call one of them up to revisit what I thought looked neat the first time around. These files are not very large in size, but cleaning them up makes selecting the current one that much easier, as the folder has less "clutter" in it. I say this because I do not fly with online updates on - I just download the proper archive, or current weather file (and save it).Either way, have fun!!Neil :)
October 2, 200619 yr Author That's my "problem" exactly. If I see that list of weather files getting too large, the compulsive clean-it-up bug bites and out everything goes, all except the special files. Thanks for the reply Neil.Dan Dan George (woodhick)Check out Greenbrier Aero Club, the VA for and about the GA pilot.
