Hi,Recently I have been having a problem with ASv6.5 since, I am fairly sure, upgrading to build 533.After initiating AS (in online mode) I submit the relevent textures to FS9 via GEPro, then I start FS9. When the fs is up and running, I observe that the weather, as displayed by AS, at the same location, has not been "read" by fs. In order to correct the situation I have to restart AS and then all is well and fs sim then displays the correct weather and continues to do so as AS updates periodically. I have tried a "refresh" but this does not effect a cure, the only apparent way to get FS to display the correct weather at startup is to restart AS. This is inconvenient to say the least and is not the behaviour that I have experienced in my long term use of AS. (and Weather RE et al!) I should mention that I operate AS on a client pc via widefs and have done for some time so I have no reason to believe that the network is a factor regarding my problem. Regards,Brian(Cheltenham UK)

Hi Brian,Sorry for the problem. It does sound like a network problem/communication problem. Before your restart does AS recognize your current location?Sometimes after an update a users firewall/antivirus needs to be adjusted because they "see" an update as a new program. However, that does not explain why a restart of AS fixes things. Also, are you allowing enough time for the update? Please let us know,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/

Hi Jim,Thank you very much for your reply. In answer to your questions:-I have used activesky in all it`s forms on this network in the past years with no apparent problems, I also use other applications such as FScommander with no problem. I had discounted the network as a likely cause based on this fact.AS does recognise the current location of fs9 before the the restart, I do not find that I need to direct AS to the fs path.Yes I do allow sufficient time for the update, as I said I am conversant with the operation of AS and am aware of the normal cycle of events during a weather update. This behaviour seems to be associated with the upgrade to build 533 although I admit that could be a coincidence.I am sorry that the symptoms are rather vague. I am using AS on my flights but it is proving a bit of a pain to get up and running when I have to restart AS every time.Hope this information helpsBrian

Hi Brian,So in FS04 you just get calm, clear conditions with a temperature of 58F and a pressure of 29.92 on the initial load of AS?In FS is weather marked as Used Defined?Another thing that may help us: Start everything up and then shut down. Then zip up 3 files: FSUIPC.log, WideSever.log and, WideClient.log.Thanks, Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
