I'm a relatively new (1 month) Active Sky user (ASAv6 Build 533). Great program, but I have been encountering one repeated problem. My home airport is CYLW (ATIS 127.50). With some downloaded weather sets (example 20070113_17Z) the ATIS does not work (no "answer" when 127.50 is set on Com1) while for other sets (example 20070116_03Z) the ATIS is fine. Other airports ATIS (example CYVR) seem to work for all ASv6 weather sets. CYLW works for all the FS9 sets I have used, but I can't say I have used an FS9 set corresponding to an ASv6 set that had a missing CYLW ATIS.ASv6 has the CYLW weather in all cases. The problem occurs whether or not I have filed a flight plan in ASv6, and occurs both when starting from CYLW and when flying into CYLW from elsewhere.Any idea what is causing this inconsistency?Tom NickersonCYLW

Hi Tom,Welcome!I am not sure what the problem is.There is nothing in ASv6 that adds or subtracts from the default ATIS voice system. And there is nothing in the weather sets either. Jim,To answer your questions:1. FlightWatch - I have tried with it on and off for both Good and Bad downloaded archives. No difference. It gives the weather on 122.00 but has no effect on the presence or absence of ATIS on 127.50 and in ATC.2. Other software running. I have some CYLW scenery and some Holger Sandman BC scenery but nothing else.I have done some further testing and can report as followa;In tests of 6 downloaded weather sets the ATIS (and ATC) worked properly in 3 cases and did not work (tuning 127.50 gave nothing) in the other 3 cases.Very puzzling!! If you think of anything else please let me know. I will continue to do testing and see I can shed any light on the problem. If I do I will get back to you.Tom CYLW

Hi Tom,What sound card do you have? Jim,Sound card is SoundBlaster 5.1, Drivers up to date.System is Dell 8300, 2.8GHZ, 512 MB DDR SDRAM, video card 128 MB DDR ATI Radeon 9800So far the Metars that give no ATIS on 127.50 @ CYLW are:20061214_22Z (29.67 in Hg)20070113_17Z (30.47 in Hg)20070113_18Z (30.47 in HG)All Metars give proper info on 122.00 with Flightwatch checked. And all the Metars give proper ATIS at CYVR and CYYC (west and east of CYLW).Hope this helps. I will keep track of any more anomalies and try to spot a pattern. Cheers,Tom NickersonCYLW

Tom,maybe something to look at is your Hardware Acceleration settings :Open Control Panel then select Sounds and Audio Devices Properties Audio Advanced Performance, then reduce the Hardware Acceleration by moving the slider to the left. Hi Tom,After about 2 hours of testing and troubleshooting I know what is causing this! It seems that the station ATC cannot report fractional visibilities. Not only that, but visibilities under 4SM. This stems from the MS recorded file and there is nothing we can do.BTW are you using Edit Voice Pack for ATC or the default file?
