February 8, 200719 yr Hello.I was wondering if you could tell me what exactly is happening when the attached dialog appears.Last night I finally gave up waiting for it to disappear after connecting to a new provider for dialup access (yes, dialup access) and just went to fly. Once the flight was over I checked and it was gone. But, I waited for about 15 minutes before giving up. The longest it has taken in the past (with dialup) is about 90 seconds.I know something changed regarding this starting with v6.5 because before that it never needed to be online at that stage. Now, with whatever it's doing, it does.I was hoping someone could tell me what's happening at this stage why it never went away after 15 minutes and if it's a big deal that I went offline before it was finished. Thanks!
February 8, 200719 yr Hi,That is the screen that shows when AS is processing a flight plan. Was this a particularly long plan or a plan with a large number of waypopints? If a new download was needed, then that is part of the process. Also, maybe your new connection needs adjusting in some way.I am not sure what you mean here:I know something changed regarding this starting with v6.5 because before that it never needed to be online at that stage. Now, with whatever it's doing, it does.I just tried in Offline Mode and a plan takes just as long to porcess.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
February 9, 200719 yr Author The time it takes has pretty much always been the same. But, before version 6.5 I could be offline before clicking the "process" button. Starting with 6.5 I still need to be online until after the "process" is finished. If I'm not it wants to get back online again to finish up whatever it's doing.I guess all I was saying there is prior to 6.5 I could go offline as soon as the weather was downloaded. Now I have to wait until after the plan is "processed".I just have my doubts that the connection needs tweaking because I can still browse, get mail, etc. The connection is active it was just that AS wasn't finishing with the process part of things.
February 9, 200719 yr Hi,Are you now forcing the Secondary server whereas before you were forcing the Primary server? No matter, see if forcing the Primary server fixes this.If you were not forcing anything before you just happened to always get the Primary server. The Secondary server will always trigger a new download on a FP or a Refresh.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
