February 16, 200719 yr My active sky won't connect to FS. This problem doesn't make any difference if i use widefs or install active sky at the same pc as FS.I'm using activesky 6.5 build 533. FSUIPC and WideFS are the latest versions.Does somebody have an idea what the problem is?
February 16, 200719 yr Hi,Sorry for the problem.A few questions:FS04 or FSX?Double check and make sure FSUIPC is in the Modules folder.Registered or freeware FSUIPC?Does AS recognize your current loction in FS?Please let us know,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
February 17, 200719 yr Hi Jim,Thanks for the fast reply.I'm working with FS2004 and FSUIPC is in the modules folder and so is WideFS server ini file and DLL. oth are registered.AS does recognize the current location. In fact all is working fine, but it look like AS doesn't conect to FS.There are no firewalls that can block anything. Here is a copy of the server ini:; PLEASE SEE the documentation for parameter details; ==================================================[Config]Port=8002AdvertiseService=1AutoRestart=0AutoUpdateTime=13MaximumBlock=4096NoStoppedRestarts=YesPort2=9002RestartTime=10SendTimeout=15TCPcoalesce=NoProtocolPreferred=UDP; -----------------------------------------------[user]Log=Errors+; ===============================================[ClientNames]1=SFCClient ini:; PLEASE SEE WideFS documentation for parameter details;=====================================================[Config]ServerName=freddieProtocol=TCPPort=8002Window=567,589,348,101Visible=Yes; -----------------------------------------------ButtonScanInterval=20ClassInstance=0NetworkTiming=5,1MailslotTiming=2000,1000PollInterval=2000Port2=9002ResponseTime=18ApplicationDelay=0TCPcoalesce=NoWaitForNewData=500MaxSendQ=100OnMaxSendQ=LogNewSendScanTime=50Priority=3,1,2[user]Log=Errors+;===============================================Run1=C:BaseFolderModulesASv6ASv6.exeI hope you have enough info, if you need to know more just pm me.Greets Wiecher
February 17, 200719 yr Hi,Things look goo here!So what makes you think that AS and FS are not connected? Is it a specific message or weather data that you think is wrong? Please let us know,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
February 18, 200719 yr Well,i'm going slightly mad here.I uninstalled everything and reinstalled it all, this time just on one pc. Still no luck! AS keeps in saying FS disconnected and no weather change in FS. I'm beginning to lose faith :(
February 18, 200719 yr Hi,We'll get this! 1. Remove the FSUIPC.key file and save it. I know that makes FSUIPC unregistered, but try that.2. You said that AS recognizes your location in FS. Is this still the case? If "yes" then do not do #1.I'll be around all day,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
February 18, 200719 yr Hi,You can move the key file back in and try things out. Or reregister and create a new key file. If this does not work then you need to contact Pete about your key. He is on Holiday until the 20th of this month. What this means is that you have a bad key.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
February 26, 200719 yr Sorry to drag this up, but I am having the same issues.ASV6.5 will load, I can pull a metar, but when I hit refresh to start the program, I can get as far as Connecting to HifiSim's servers and there it just sits. Never downloads anything. I tried moving the key file but that didn't work. Funny thing is, I tried it yesterday afternoon and it connected without issue, I tried it again last night and got the same thing, connecting to hifisim servers but never downloads. I did delete FSX from my system and an using FS9 only. I also have the new .net 3.0, I wonder if that could be causing it. Im at a loss.Regards,David
February 26, 200719 yr Hi David,First off, sorry for the problem. This is not the same as the above problem, but we'll try some things out. This looks to be an Internet/ISP connection problem. I need you to check your firewall and AV settings to make sure that AS has access permission. I know you got one good download. Something else, when this happens again, see if you can browse to our web site and click around a bit. This may tell us if it is an ISP problem between you and our server. Another suggestion would be to force one server and then the other and see if that makes a difference. Please let us know,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
February 27, 200719 yr Bingo, if i force the secondary server, it works. If I force the Primary, it wont connect. My ISP is fine. I can move all around hifisim even download updates. ZoneAlarm is set to all ASV through, so that is not the issue. I must have a bad server address.Here are my settings://ASv6.5 configuration file Build 533[General]WindowPosX = 5775WindowPosY = 900DefaultWeatherFolder = C:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesFlight Simulator 9ModulesASv6SuppressionCeiling = 5000SurfaceWindLimit = 10FS9Path = C:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesFlight Simulator 9PersonalAppDataFolder = C:Documents and SettingsadmApplication DataCloudLayerLimit = 5LocalSuppressionRange = 100MinimumVisibility = 0MaximumVisibility = 500LastPlanFolder = NONEAutoVasFrequency = 30AutoVasStrength = 30TurbulenceFrequency = 50DefaultStartupLocation = KATLDefaultGraphicsFullTheme = Wx-InfluencedDefaultGraphicsCirrusTheme = Wx-InfluencedAutoSubmitGraphicsTheme = TrueIncreasedWake = FalseDisableWindsAloft = FalseForcePrimaryServer = FalseForceSecondaryServer = FalseGEProAutoSubmit = TrueUseFetchedStationforGEPro = TrueShowDecodedMBasDecimal = TrueSkyOverride = GEPROFavorCumulus = FalseForceRoutePressure = FalseForceLowestCeiling = FalseUnpauseOnReadyStatus = FalseDisableWriteThrottle = FalseDisableProcessThrottle = FalseForceTstormsWithCB = FalseAutoSetFSTime = TrueIgnoreFSLocationUntilReady = TrueAutoConvertPlanFiles = TrueAutoRefreshAI = TrueDisableVisGraduation = FalseEnableGEProWideFSMode = FalseExtendedThrottling = FalseForceRouteAloftTemp = FalseOfflinePlayback = FalseEnableVAS = TrueAutoGenVAS = TrueForceDestinationWeatherZone = FalsePreventIcing = TrueOnlineUpdates = TrueExtendedDestinationWindsForce = FalseDisableAllGroundUpdates = FalseGlobalWrites = FalseDepictFS9HazeLayer = FalseExtendTstormLayers = FalseDisableDirectWindControl = FalseVoicePlayback = TrueLocalSuppression = TrueStartupSound = TrueDisableGroundUpdates = FalseUseProxyServer = FalseFogLayerGeneration = TrueUpdateSuppression = TrueOvercastEnhancement = TrueIgnoreFSReadyStatus = TrueFSUIPCWindSmoothing = TrueLimitSurfaceWinds = FalseLimitCloudLayers = TrueAutoGlobalWriteToggle = TrueRainWithTS = TrueDisableUpperLayerGeneration = FalseVisibilitySmoothing = TrueDisableMessages = FalseAutoTimeZoneDetection = TrueUpdateInterval = 5VATSIMData = TrueZuluConversion = -5AloftPredictability = 100WindDriftRate = 0MaxCloudThickness = 10000MinStratusSeparation = 7000TAFProcessing = FalseEnforceVisibilityLimits = TrueWakeTurb = TrueStartPaused = TrueUseSystemTime = TrueDisableCAVOKClouds = FalseProxyAddress = NONEideas?
February 27, 200719 yr Hi,The servers are in two physical locations so the Internet paths are different. I believe the web site is in a third location. So I would force the second server. The primary server is up so that is not it. Which leads back to an ISP problem. So, Force the secondary server, save your settings, which have not done, and you should be OK!Another thing you can try is a clean uninstall/reinstall, if you would like to try that. I would leave things for a few days and then try the primary server again. Please let us know,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
