Why are there clouds.......

Featured Replies

all around me flying with FS9 and Active Sky 6.5 when the report says Clouds:None. Precipitation:None and a look out of the window convinces me that the report is correct: sky is blue, not one cloud anywhere.

Hi,Thanks for writing. It could be because you are between weather stations and you are getting a blending of the weather. Station reports are only accurate for a short radius around the station. Also know that if the METAR is reporting CAVOK, clouds may still be possible.Thanks!Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/

Hi!Thanks for the reply but I was not between weather stations I was right on top of Vienna airport. I know about the CAVOK situation ... I don't think it was CAVOK. I shall test fly again tomorrow.
