July 30, 200718 yr When I set up weather at an airport, and wish to enter a new cloud layer, I get asked both the altitude of the cloud, and the "thickness" of it. I'm unsure as to whether the "thickness" refers to the height above the cloud base, or the depth below the cloud ceiling. I'm preparing some instrument flight scenarios, with a broken layer slightly below circling minimums, so the term "thickness" is critical on how I go about doing that. Thanks, Bruce. ASEL, Instrument. July 30, 200718 yr Hi Bruce,"Thickness" refers to both of your examples. It is the distance between the cloud base and ceiling.------------------------------------------------------------ | | | | Thickness | | | |------------------------------------------------------------Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
