May 22, 200818 yr Hi there.I have read the blurb and seen the screenshots on your (HiFi Sim) website but I still have a question. I've never ever had FS Passengers for FS9 because I came into the hobby with FSX. Anyway, is Xpax along similar lines to FS passengers. Do passengers scream for example if you scare them like I've heard they do in FS Passengers? I note that FS Passengers will soon be available for FSX but if X Pax is the same kind of product then I will stick with HiFi Simulation for the excellent support forum here if anything else. I already have ASX and X Graphics and I do like the look of the Interface on X Pax. One thing worries me a little bit. I note that I have to use "Windowed Mode" in FSX as the program runs along side it or is that only when setting things up like ASX?Thanks.Graham.
May 22, 200818 yr Hi,Thanks for your interest and words!!Yes, there are a few similarities between the two programs. We try to add the feel of airport operations through the audio and video features.Yes, passengers will scream if you do crazy stuff.Windowed Mode or a second monitor is needed if you wish to view the videos. Other than that you can run X Pax "behind" FSX.Please ask if you have more questions!Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
May 23, 200818 yr Jim.Thanks for your reply. My video card has two sockets so I could add another monitor. Question, does a second monitor add strain to the card (ATI X1950 pro 512mb), and would it affect FPS in FSX? Is it quite easy to set up using the Catalyst Control centre or is it a BIOS job as well? Sorry to make this post off topic.Thanks.Graham.
May 23, 200818 yr Hi,Not a strain that you will notice.Easy to set up through your Windows video properties screens. Nothing in the BIOS.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
May 24, 200818 yr >Windowed Mode or a second monitor is needed if you wish to>view the videosI have two monitors, but when I run FSX in full-screen mode it covers both screens. How do you set it up so FSX only uses one of the monitors without using window mode (that kills FPS)?And another question: Can XPax run on a second PC, like it is possible with ASX and Graphics X?Tom Tom Risager NGX tutorial: http://library.avsim.net/sendfile.php?Location=AVSIM&Proto=ftp&DLID=162360 SIDs & STARs Worked Examples: LOWI-UUDD, KSEA-KLAX, EKCH-ENGM, YSCB-YPAD
May 25, 200818 yr Hi Tom,Yes, XPax can run on a networked machine as the other programs do.Not sure how to run FSX on only one monitor in Full Screen Mode. For me, Full screen blacks out the second monitor, so I run in Windowed mode with no loss of FPS. Make sure the resolutions match.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
