Active Sky and FSINN

Featured Replies

Hello. Can you please help with the following.Running FSINN I have disabled the WX in Settings. Am I supposed to also not click on the WX cloud next to the VATSIM connection? Or SHould I?Thanks.

If you're using Active Sky to generate your weather and not FSInn don't click on the cloud. Let Active Sky give you excellent weather instead.Make sure you select the VATSIM option in Active Sky so that you have the same weather as the other VATSIM users, including ATC, for your departure and arrival airports.

Thanks, that is what I thought but here is the issue:I use Vatsim weather in the options menu of Active Sky.I loaded FS and active sky and at first didn't connect to FSINN and VATSIM.And I tried 2 airports. One with 2 BKN layers, one with moderate snow showers. At the first airport the sky looked rather scattered, definately didn't give me the feel of any BKN layer and at the second light snow was falling.I then connected to vatsim via fsinn and with wx disabled in the fsinn options, I clicked on the cloud next to the vatsim network. At the first airport, the sky looked more accurate, two solid layers of BKN clouds and at the second airport, the light snow shower intensified to a moderate snowfall. So I don't understand. Why am I not seeing what I think I should see in terms of "octas" when I run Active Sky and why does FSINN turn it on?And second part to this question, if I click on the FSINN cloud, is it still Active Sky generating the clouds based on info from FSINN/VATSIM or is it standard FS cloud/vis depiction? Thanks for the help.

Hi, i have the very same problem. I start Real Environment, then Flight Environment, then Active Sky, create a FPL have GE PRO generate the appropriate textures and then in FS I dont get the METARs weather report, i should get. For example, while the AS Metar says overcast and GE pro loads overcast textures, then in FS i got sky clear. The only way to get this around is by enabling the VATSIM online weather and by hitting the clound next to VATSIM in FSINN. However, does this mean that I have AS6 generating the weather now, or FSINN?

Or AS6 through Fsinn? As I find that cloud textures are still of excellent quality.

Hi All,At this point this thread is pretty confusing!Whatever you are using to connect to VATSIM, you turn the weather Off.In Active Sky, you have Online Updates On and Use VATSIM Weather On.Then Active Sky is generating VATSIM weather directly to FS.If people have individual questions/issues, please start a new thread! Thanks All!!Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/

Hi,The question is pretty simple. Why do I feel that the weather generated by FSINN, respects more accurately the airport METAR than when depicted by Active Weather? My example was BKN layer looking like scattered with Active weather where it looked more accurate via FSINN.

ok I managed to solve the puzzle. It was the FSUIPC.FS9>Module folder. Delete anything that has to do with FSUIPC (.dll. ini. reg. keys) and install the newest one (16 July 2008). I used the unregistered copy. It worked.
