September 19, 200817 yr Hi i am new to using ASX i have been using it for over a week now and i am totally in love with it except for one thing that is driving me crazy, the very noticeable wind shifts that push my aircraft from left to right vilantly. this sometimes knocks my flight off course.I'm flying the Default 747-400 i've heard i can stop the wind shifts from happening my disabling the winds aloft, but i dont wish to do this as this will make the flight sim un-realistic. Also would this not stop turbulance happening?i would be very greatfull if someone has a solution to this as its really driving me mad. I've also tried checking the wind smoothing etc but doesn't seem to help much at all. Many thanks Chris
September 19, 200817 yr This is a common problem with FSX,but i think it is much improved if using the latest version along with the most current version of FSUIPC.I had much the same problem but it seemed to have been greatly improved eventually.Havent used FSX for months now As I prefer FS9 with the tons of addon airports I have purchased over the years and I dont have a top notch system to run FSX decently. This topic has been discussed at great length on this forum.DO a Search for wind shifts and you should find some answersJust make sure your using the most up to date versions of ASX and FSUIPC and it should be OK.RegardsRichard
September 19, 200817 yr Hi Chris,Just to add to this, try with virtual stations On and enhanced route coverage On in ASX.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
September 21, 200817 yr Same Problem.Wind changes so extremly, that my plane get in overspeed or to slow. I use virtual stations, load my flightplan in asx use all new versions of fsuipc and ASX.Any ideas?
September 21, 200817 yr Hi,Please start a new thread next time!Which plane?Enhanced Route Coverage On?Free FSUIPC or registered? September 21, 200817 yr Please start a new thread next time! OK ive think is the same problem as me.Which plane? All PlanesEnhanced Route Coverage On? NoFree FSUIPC or registered? If i change from flight level to flight level or in flight. Weather change visible.
September 21, 200817 yr Hi,I know, but it is too hard to keep track of things with multiple people in the same thread!Turn Enhanced Route Coverage On.Try with those smoothing options Off.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
September 22, 200817 yr Sorry, wont work. Heavy shift and overspeed and then to slow... Thats not so fine. Any other solutions?
September 22, 200817 yr Hi,I have all Smoothing options off, free FSUIPC, fly default planes, and don't get these huge shifts, enough to cause overspeeds. Are you flying right at the barber pole speed?Edit: Are you using FSX SP2?Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
October 3, 200817 yr FSX SP2Now i have a log file for you. Hope it help a little bit. Wind change is not so extremly like before but problem is still there.http://www.sej.de/movdat/asx.txtCheck my log file. After heavy wind change, its in the numbers with 4. I get some layers and in the next steps there is a change and i think on this change my plane get an overspeed.I have this problem with all planes. Most i fly econ mode.
October 3, 200817 yr Hi,That is a log file from FSUIPC and I have no idea what any of that means. I can suggest that FSUIPC should be set to default settings and weather settings off.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
