no problems with activation,however when loading the aircraft the panels and VC are blank and no under carraige on the aircraft.Re installed three times and same problem. Anyone else had this issue. any ideas and solutions please, completely unflyable on my system. Very disappointing for me . Regards

HiOpen the pedestal panel. At the bottom of the panel set the ILs frequency in the box,next to it is another box.make sure this is set to the heading of the ILS then when you capture the ILS it will turn the correct way and line up with the runway.I had this problem and took me ages to realize what the problem was.Hope this helpsRegards Richard

If you install Active camera on a new computer or reinstall the OS you will have to email anticyclone with a code that active camera will generate when you intall it.They will then send you another code to unlock the program.Previous codes wont work. Normally they are very quick in sending you a new code.RegardsRichard

Duplicate AFCAD files can cause FS to shut down,also addon scenery and airports can cause this to happen.Check you dont have more than one Afcad active for any addons you have installed.Have you installed any third party Panels for the aircraft you fly,if so replace with a default panel unless it is a payware aircraft,eg. Level D 767,Flight 1 ATR,etc.Problem guages can also cause problems although Fs usually crashes when you load the aircraft in this case.Could also be a heat problem, check the temps of your graphics card and processor if you have monitoring software on your computer,however overheating normally causes the computer to lock up, reboot autamatically or blue screen depending how you have your setup.I have had FS keep crashing on me before,as i had so many third party addons I didnt know where to stat looking,sometimes its best to uninstall FS completely and start afresh adding addons one at a time then testing.A pain I know but its better than hacing FS crash when your half way throu a flight.Best of luck RegardsRichard

Just purchased a new computer a couple of weeks ago and have a problem booting up XP.Some times it will boot up ok then maybe about 1 in 10 bootups it will hang on a totally black screen just after the press del to enter setup page appears.XP loading page doesnt appear and have to restart the computer and it loads up fine. Dont get ant POST errors and have no problem getting into BIOS or safe mode.After that dont get any problems using the computer at all.checked device manager and everything ok there.Took back to where i bought it from and they reinstalled XP and the problem was still there,took back again and they replaced the SATA cables and reset the BIOS but still getting the problem.COntacted them again and they have ordered a new motherboard which should be replaced sometime next week.Hopefully that will fix it cause this is very frustating specially the fact that once you get XP to load there are no problems at all.Havent had the best after sales service,the usual case of once theyve got your money and dont have replacement parts in stock!At the moment i have the system set to S3 sleep mode as it seems to boot up ok from sleep mode.Any one else had this problem and what did you do to fix it?Any info RegardsRichardMy systemBiostar TP35D2 MotherboardIntel Dual core 2.3 processorSparkle Geforce 8500GT Graphics 1Gig memory2GBDDR 2 memory1 300gig sata hard drive1 200gig sata hard drive720 watt PSUSATA DVD-RW8 channel soundWindows XP home SP3

This is a common problem with FSX,but i think it is much improved if using the latest version along with the most current version of FSUIPC.I had much the same problem but it seemed to have been greatly improved eventually.Havent used FSX for months now As I prefer FS9 with the tons of addon airports I have purchased over the years and I dont have a top notch system to run FSX decently.This topic has been discussed at great length on this forum.DO a Search for wind shifts and you should find some answersJust make sure your using the most up to date versions of ASX and FSUIPC and it should be OK.RegardsRichard

I have AES installed and dont get any problems there.The problem is with cloud9 sceneries.When you install one of their airports eg.AMS in installs a file called Bglman.dll in the modules folder. this gives an additional entry at the top of FS for adjusting scenery complexity etc.however this blgman.dll isnt compatible with the 3GB switch fs9exe file.you get a error message when you start fs giving this file as the problem and then aborts FS when you clear the message.I have read there is a blgman.dll file available that is compatible with the fs9exe 3GB swith file however i am unable to find it.If anyone understands what I am going on about and knows where this file is please post a link.The way I get around this is to rename the blgman.dll to blgman.dll.bak then fs loads however any cloud 9 airport you have installed wont display without the dll file.not particularly a problem as i only have AMS and dont fly there that often.not particularly good FPS for me im afraid.If I want to fly to AMS i remane the dll and use the original fs9exebut then you have more chance of OOM errors, especially with PMDG models.regardsRichard

Yes I have noticed that there has been much discussion on this topic but it appears all to be related to the 747,havent seen anything related to the 737 but as they are both by PMDG the problem probably exists with both.I do have the 3GB switch but as i have Cloud 9 AMS installed I cant use the switch as its not compatible with cloud 9 scenery.You get an error message when starting FS and then it aborts after closing the message.the way around this is to deactivate cloud 9 AMS then use the 3GB switch I believe there is a 3GB switch file thats compatible with cloud9 scenery but cant find it.May do this when not flying to Amsterdamand see what happens.Thanks for the infoRegardsRichard

HII have a problem when using the PMDG 737-800 model in that it seems to have a memory leak. When using the -800 model 2D cockip only and monitor the page file usage with windows task manager it gradually keeps creeping up from about 890Mb to over 1.5GB over time and then gives an out of memory error.I have tested with the -700 model also and dont get the same problem or with other payware of free ware A/cCant understand why this happens only with the 800 model as they both use the same panel.Does anyone else have this problem.Ive checked all the scenery folders for landclass textures folders as these cause memory leaks and all seems ok.Its a bit bafflingAny info RegardsRichard

HiI agree that the graphics are not very good.Hardly photo realistic as it says on their website.Looks like a cartoon.you can change the detail and resolution from the default settingsbut still not a great improvement.Manual also not easy to understand and got a blue screen on the first loading after installing but seems ok now.I have a tower sim program that I got about 10 years ago and the graphics I feel were far superior for its time than this offering.Definately not worth the price they want for it.I was eagerly awaiting the release of this product and was expecting photorealistic graphics like some of the payware airports you can buy for FS.Think i'll loose interest in this pretty quick.Very dissapointed!!!Regards Richard

If you get CTD,s when flying from a non AES airport to an AES airport position yourself an the destination airport first,ensure AES has initialised by pressing Ctrl-shift-W then reposition yourself at your departure airport and you wont get a CTD as you approach your destination.A bit long winded but seems to work for me until the AES developers get the problem sorted.Regards

HiDoes anyone know why FS9 rebuilds database after the clocks change.This happens the first time you run FS after the clocks go forward to BST ,it also happens when the clocks go back as well.Not particularly a problem just interested in why it happens and does it happen to others or just me?This has probably been answered before but couldnt find any info on the forums.RegardsRichard

Thanks for the advice.Ive purchased anyway and FPS seem reasonable with AI traffic settings low.previously had UK2000 pro and the frame rates were awful [down to 4 or 5 at times.]also installed AES for the airport and it doesn't have any impact on the framerates.AES is an absolute wonderful program it really adds to the realism although it gets a bit expensive as you have to buy credits to activate the airports and it is mostly only compatible with payware scenery.RegardsRichard

If you get the FS has encountered a problem message that is not an OOM but a CTD.When you get an OOM you get a Loud BONG and a message with a red cross saying you have run out of memory.If youve just installed new scenery check that you dont have Duplicate Afcads for the same airport as I believe these can cause FS to crash. If its only crashing with 100% traffic could be just that your system cant handle it.Regards

Just completed the same flight LEMG -EGBB which resulted in OOM error yesterday.Page file usage at the start was 875MB and at the end of the flight it had gone up to 1.35GB but no OOM this time, so theres definately a memory leak somewhere or is this normal?At the start of the flight it barely rose at all but as i got closer and over the UK the rise was quite rapid.I do have alot of addon airports for the UK almost all the major and regional airports so maybe it just needs more memory when flying here.As long as I dont keep getting these dteaded OOM messages I,ll be happy.Too early to know if ive elininated them yet. WIll keep testing.Regards

HiI applied the patch and adjusted the Userva in the boot ini and still had an out of memory after about 3 hours flying.I flew from Malaga to Birmingham and got an OOM abou 5 miles final from BHX.Page file usage had gradually increased from 985MB to About 1.45GB when the OOM occured which is far below the 3GB page file I have assigned with 2GB RAM.Seems that I have A memory leak somewhere.It seems that OOM messages occur anytime When the page file increases as I have got as high as 2GB before the message occured and as low as 1.2GB.I deleted the page file and let it reduild another incase the page file had become corrupted as instructed on the microsoft website and also deleted the fs9.cfg file and also let it rebuild another.I also am using Ultimate terrain Europe.I read on another forum to disable the enhanced industrial Landclass option as these can cause memory leaks.Will do some further testing . This is very frustrating as this has only happened recently on a regular basis although it did occasionally happen before.RegardsRichard

Also been getting OOM messaeges recently and installed the >2GB patch.Eventually worked out how to do it!How important is it to also edit the Boot ini as it doesnt say to do so on the website where you download the program to patch the FS9 exe.I dont like to edit Boot ini file as i have read extreme caution must be taken as it can make your system unbootable.Is adding this userVA at the end likely to cause any problems as I have no Idea how to recover from a system that wont boot.Didnt realize until now that there was a fix for OOM messages.Gonna do some testing nowRegardsRichard

Ive been getting out of memory messages recently when running FS9.I have 2GB Ram and page file set to 3GB.I have been monitoring with windows task manager and it runs out of memory at around 1.40 page file usage, Which is well below the limit.When I start a Flight it shows around 830 Mb and gradually increases during the Flight,normally it doesnt go much above 1.20GB but sometimes it just increases all the time till it runs out of memory at about 1.40GB.Not sure why it says its run out of memory when it clearly hasn,t.I read somewhere that FS can sometimes generate false OOM errors but not sure where i Read it.I know about all the AFCAD and Landcless problems that Cause out of memory errors but wondered if anyone else gets OOM errors with plenty memory left.Dont think its a Hardware problem as Ive had this problem on other computers.HOpe this makes sense RegardsRIchard

HiYou can use your own announcements rather than by recording them by looking in the following folder C/my computer/documents and settings/user name/application data/hi-fi/XPAX/Content/audio.I think this folder is hidden by default so you have to make sure you have your windows settins to show hidden files.look for the file name of the announcement you want to change then rename your file to the same file name you want to change and copy to the folder overwriting when prompted.Back original up first incase something goes wrong.I think the files you replace have to be in .wav format to work.It has worked for me,ive changed almost all the cabin announcements to ones of my own that ive either recorded on flights or from ones ive recorded from videos on you tube.Hope this is of helpRegards

For me it happens with XPax either minimized or in the system tray.I minimize FSX start XPax them minimize it to the systen tray and when I bring FSX back up it crashes giving the MSVCRT.DLL error every time.RegardsRichard

Ive found a way to get XPax running in FSX.If I load a saved flight which is sitting at an airport with brakes on then start XPax FSX crashes however if I create a new flight then start XPax FSX doesnt crash,I must also make sure that I dont toggle left,right view rear view ect. or fsx will crash when XPax is running.Ive disabled the hat switch on my joystick so I dont innadvertantly toggle a side view or I have lost my flight.Dont have a clue what is going on here,is anyone else having these problems?At least I have the 2 programs working together for the first time,although far from ideal.Any comments on this pleaseRegards

Not quite sure what you mean by double checking install paths.What is the actual install path please? Think they must be correct as XPax works fine with FS9 and if I Minimize FSX and start XPax it says sim connected on the bottom of the XPax screen,Its when I bring FSX back on the screen it crashes.Regards
