Outdated Weather

Featured Replies

I have a feeling that I'm missing something real simple...ASX is downloading weather that is 3 days old--it's still depicting my area being affected my hurricane Kyle.I've tried re-downloading, choosing the correct date, making sure historical was not selected, etc etc. For some reason it;s stuck on the 29th...Any Ideas???ASXVista 32FSXThanks :)

Thanks, JimI tried it again this morning. It appears it downloads the proper data according to the "report" section. However, the map section still shows the huricane and, if I switch to a city close to me, it has the old data from the 29th...returning back to view the report for my first selection, the old data is back again.Below is my log. The only thing I noticed today that did not happen yesterday was the simconnect error. Thanks!

Thanks, Jim.I'll try that out tomorrow and let you know.Strange, it was working fine up until now (although, ASX is a new purchase and not much time with it). I'll keep ya postedThanks :)

So, doing the above did not work.I did some reading up on SimConnect, and it appears it isn't even on my system. I do not have the SxS directory anywhere.I read a couple of posts on manually installing from the SDK, but I couldn't find the patches for Sp1 etc. So, being frustrated, I did an FSK repair from the DVD. After it started, It occured to me that this was probably going to mess up some other changes I made. It didn't matter anyway...still no simconnect.So...I think I'm just going to wipe everything and start from scratch.I know it's not HiFi's fault, but if SimConnect is this unreliable and "screwy" you'd think MS would have done something by now. I'm very ticked off...what a waste of a day off. I don't have the patience for this stuff!! lol :)Anyway, I'll let you know if this works or not...Thanks,Shane.

Easy fix is just delete your .wx files in your My DocumentsFlight Simulator X Files Directory or wherever your saved flights are.I delete all mine every couple of months.

Well, stupid me, I was looking for a folder just names "SxS". It wasn't untill I came across some other trouble shooting tips that I realized my mistake. Anyway, back to my problem...So, I completely uninstalled FSX (wiped out any entries in my system..registry etc...that referenced FS or my addons) and reinstalled.Same simconnect error. However, it does APPEAR to work fine if I start FSX first (no simconnect error as above). The weather seems to be correct, although I believe I had the same outdated weather when I first tried last night. But, I had been troubleshooting all day, so I can't really remember what and when. I'll keep testing.I would like to try get this sorted out, though, so I don't need to have FSX running. But, I don't know what to try next. It seems uninstall/reinstall of FSX was the last option...Thanks.

Yep. That's right, Jim.

Correct again, Jim :)
