October 23, 200817 yr Hi guys:I must be going blind as i couldnt find my last post regarding settings. Here are the current settingshttp://img353.imageshack.us/img353/9738/pa...oct23002fd8.jpgI am still getting erratic shifting winds every few minutes. Does the wind left/right limit at the top affect anything? If so what, and should it auto set.I always process the flight plan, and once again on my atlantic hop i have had the winds shifting continuously throughout the flight. I appreciate that ActiveSky is the only add-on that assists with the real world weather, but there appears to be a lot of people with and a lot without this issue. Why? There must be a common element causing this...Lastly - i have tried 10% increments on the dynamic rate of change slider, these seem to have no effect. Also, have started at defaults and sdjusted settings throughout the flight - all to no avail.Would a re-install of ASX be a reasonable suggestion?Would a reinstall of ASX require a re-config of the simconnect ?CheersPaul Is there a way to auto ignore trolls, flamers and any post with a +1 in it here?
October 23, 200817 yr Author Doh! Found the older post, Couldn't see the woods for the trees! :)Apologies for the re-post, questions above still stand....CheersPaul Is there a way to auto ignore trolls, flamers and any post with a +1 in it here?
October 23, 200817 yr Hi,From Damian:"FSX's wind interpolation bugs prevent proper depiction of wind direction as set via the data. Random directions are unfortunately a known issue that after 3 years and hundreds of hours of work we have been unable to solve. Work of course does continue. One thing you may want to do (if you have ASX) is to turn on virtualstations, which can help reduce FSX interpolation bugs by supplying moredata points."Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
October 24, 200817 yr Author Jim:Thanks for the response. Not sure what its done, but a re-install of ASX and the SP3 update over the top seems to have sorted things out. I also changed the laptop from local time (Z+4) to Zulu so that it matches the Date / Time in the FSX PC. Anyway, it seems to be behaving itself for the time being other than a small oddity as i went transatlantic. Not sure what it was, but hey, its working fairly well for the moment. CheersPaul Is there a way to auto ignore trolls, flamers and any post with a +1 in it here?
October 25, 200817 yr I'm still testing different setups/configs between ASX and ASV6.5.The best results so far for stable winds with the MD11 were achieved with ASV6.5, "Wind Drift Rate" = 5 or higher in ASV settings and (surprisingly) all wind smoothing options "OFF" in FSUIPC.Having wind smoothing options OFF in FSUIPC prevents the short but heavy erratic wind shifts during new weather cycle download and station refresh - at least on my rig.ThanksJoerg
