November 19, 200817 yr Hi guys.Somebody here who, in short terms, can explain to me why ASX make a hugh impact on frames in FSX - even though ASX is running on a secondary computer. I have about 45 fps with clear skies in FSX - until i start ASX on the second pc, then frames still drops by 20 fps and end up with something like 25 fps - which ofcourse is okay, but still I don Anders Pedersen
November 19, 200817 yr Hi,Thanks for writing!1. The frame rate hit is due to the clouds and cloud layers. Load the Blizzard or Thunderstorm FSX weather theme and see what happens. And that is without ASX running at all.2. Benefits of running ASX on a secondary machine include a second screen to view ASX on, reduced memory usage but with 4GB RAM that would not be an issue for you, less CPU cycles being used with multiple programs running.3. Try limiting cloud layers in ASX and also reducing your cloud draw distance in FSX.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
