November 25, 200817 yr It never seems to rain or snow at my destination airport even thought it is indicated in the metar, ive spent hours changing settings and experimenting, including lowering/changing/removing supression ranges altitudes loading flight plans with and without force destination wx zone, weather settings off in fsuipc, hitting 'set default' tab in asv6, nothing works, i get precipitation about 20-30 miles out then it just dissaperas, it only reappears after landing (after another metar is downloaded and refreshed) or i can make it reappear on approach by minimising FS and hitting the refresh tab, it really is annoying me now!! I dont know what ive done wrong. Once the rain dissapears ive gone into the weather menu in FS to see if ican see whats going on, click local weather and click the airport im flying to and i notice that both the clouds and precipitation tabs are 'greyed out' the precipitaion tab actually indicates light rain but it is greyed out, thougt that was strange.Im using Asv6.5 build 553 in FS2004, even anyone knows of a fix please let me know before i go bald with stress!!Regards Mark
November 26, 200817 yr Hi Mark,Please post your asv6.ini file and I'll be happy to take a look at your settings you are using.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
November 26, 200817 yr Author Thanks Jim, ive actually sort of sorted it it think (after about 2 weeks of experimenting) i'm now using 'build 446' and things seem to be ok, the rain still falls on reaching the airport, however im still experimenting and would prefer to use a later version. I've posted my asv6 ini with build 446, these are exactly the same settings i was using with build 533 while i was having problems. One thing ive noticed with the previous biuld is the greying out of certain tabs in FS2004 weather menu, ive posted a screenshot that i took of the weather settings menu exactly after the rain stopped 15 miles from the airport, note how it's not showing any cloud (the cloud was still visible in FS however) and the cloud coverage tabs are greyed out, especially notice the greyed out precipitation type NONE and rate VERY LIGHT this seems to be somthing to do with it. Pressure wind etc remain fine and active in the menu and in FS. Ive also included the metar at the top. Thanks for your reply Jim, i wont bother you too much with this but if you or Damien have any ideas please let me know!Kind regards Mark
November 26, 200817 yr Hi Mark,A few things to try:1. Lower your Suppression Ceiling to 5000.2. Uncheck Force Destination Weather.3. Update to B552 which is the latest version. When AS and FS are running is weather in FS set to User Defined?I followed your screen shot and current weather is shown and none of the options are grayed out.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
November 26, 200817 yr Author Thanks Jim, tried loads of different supression ranges and ceilings and force wx dest weather on and off. Havn't treid the new build yet but i will tommorrow. Yes FS weather is user defined when when FS and AS are running. Not sure what you mean by "I followed your screen shot and current weather is shown and none of the options are grayed out." Before it stopped raining nothing was greyed out, when it stopped Precipitation changed to NONE and rate stayed at VERY LIGHT but was greyed out i.i you couldn't select it or change it, as i stated, refreshing AS using the refresh tab restored the rain and un-greyed all the tabs in the screenshot. I'll let you know how the latest build goes, thanks again for your help.Regards Mark
December 12, 200817 yr Author Hi Jim, just to let you know I think the problem may have been solved, a combination of reinstalling FS (which i didn't really want to do, but oh well) and using the latest build may have done the trick, just landed at Innsbruck with beautiful crystal snowflakes falling, need to test a little more but so far so good. Thanks for all your help as usual.Mark
