October 25, 200421 yr Hello out there....Any of you talented painters out there care to take a chance of doing a Reeve Aleutian DC-3?I totally love to fly the DC-3 in/out of short strips in rural Alaska... only dreaming of making it more realistic with the paint of the airline who used to do this for real!!!Thanking you in advance!Regards,Ted Panamarioff - Kodiak, Alaska
October 25, 200421 yr That would be cool. I know there is a repaint out there somewhere in Reeve colors for the default DC-3, but not the MAAM bird.
October 25, 200421 yr I have the repaint for the default DC-3.... but that plane pales in comparison to the MAAM one...Actually... there is no comparison! Here's shot of the real thing! http://www.airliners.net/open.file/511415/L/Regards,Ted Panamarioff - Kodiak, Alaska
October 28, 200421 yr Anyone know where to find real-world flight plans for DC-3s like the Reeve? Right now I'm just picking airports at random in Alaska and it would add a realistic touch to fly to and from airports actually used for DC-3 flights in that area.
October 28, 200421 yr You could start here, Wayne:http://www.timetableimages.com/index.htmAlthough this site primarily displays visual images of timetables of the early years, some open up to show the contents and schedules.Otherwise you might want to get yourself over to DC-3 Airways at www.dc3airways.com and dig into the ROUTES pages. There are many real-world schedules replicated there.Mark "Dark Moment" BeaumontVP FleetDC-3 Airwayshttp://www.swiremariners.com/newlogo.jpg _________________________ Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumont VP Fleet, DC-3 Airways Team Member, MAAM-SIM
October 29, 200421 yr Thanks Mark. I especially like the old timetables, that are available on DC-3 Airways, from the major airlines that used the DC-3 back in its heyday.
