New Paint Kit?

Recommended Posts

Guest Railrunner130

I thought there was talk at one time about a new paint kit that would fit the C-47s and the XC-47C. Is it still in the works? Did I dream it up or did I miss it?

Still in the works, Track-sprinter. Summer has got in the way a little bit ... OK, a lot ... but also we are waiting until we have all the C-47 model variants ready. There are two to come.Current thinking is that the templates will include: R4D-6, bare metal and white topXC-47C, bare metal and olive drabC-47 bucket seats/cargo, bare metal and olive drabC-47 bucket seats/para, olive drabC-47 passenger (not released yet), bare metal and white topC-47 cargo (seven window version, not released yet), bare metal and white top That should keep you busy, presently! You already have a kit for the DC3 passenger and cargo models in the existing paint kit, of course. Look out for notification in this forum at some point. It'll be a little while yet, sorry.MarkMark "Dark Moment" BeaumontVP Fleet, DC-3 AirwaysTeam Member, MAAM-SIM[a href=http://www.swiremariners.com/cathayhk.html" target="_blank]http://www.paxship.com/maamlogo2.jpg[/a]

Hi BillA paint template kit for the DC-3A passenger and cargo models (as released in the base package) are available in the file maamkit1.zip at Avsim.com or at our own downloads section within www.maam.org.Let us know if you still can't find it, by any chance. Good luck!Mark "Dark Moment" BeaumontVP Fleet, DC-3 AirwaysTeam Member, MAAM-SIM[a href=http://www.swiremariners.com/cathayhk.html" target="_blank]http://www.paxship.com/maamlogo2.jpg[/a]

Jeepers, that old gal has REALLY been abused/ignored/burned/neglected. I just hope the maintenance on the P&Ws is a little better than the external care! The props seem to be turning, so that's a start ....MarkMark "Dark Moment" BeaumontVP Fleet, DC-3 AirwaysTeam Member, MAAM-SIM[a href=http://www.swiremariners.com/cathayhk.html" target="_blank]http://www.paxship.com/maamlogo2.jpg[/a]

Awesome news! When the C-47 passenger (and paint kit) are released I'll redo my Arkia paint for the more accurate model. I got some new 1950's pictures showing that my "artistic freedom" painting of 4X-AES was actually more accurate for the original aircraft that flew in the 50's than for the one shiny example stationed in Eilat these days.I also plan to do some IAF repaints.
