September 25, 200520 yr Hello! I am thinking of purchasing your beautiful airplane as I sometimes like to fly the classics!I was hoping I could find 2 current cargo repaints for this model, but no luck!Would anyone be willing to do 4 Star Air Cargo and To-Air Serviceshttp://www.airliners.net/open.file/920471/L/andhttp://www.airliners.net/open.file/740173/L/ Thank you!!
September 25, 200520 yr Hi AlexAll in good time, perhaps!I did paint up 4-Star using Jan Visser's old FS2000 model which I upgraded for FS2002 ... it really flies quite nicely in FS2004 if you can live without props. Find it in my FS2002 repaints at http://www.swiremariners.com/dc3FS8.htmlHaving said that, the latest R4D-6/DC-3A package is without parallel and I'm sure you won't regret your investment.MarkMark "Dark Moment" BeaumontVP Fleet, DC-3 AirwaysTeam Member, MAAM-SIM[a href=http://www.swiremariners.com/cathayhk.html" target="_blank]http://www.paxship.com/maamlogo2.jpg[/a] _________________________ Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumont VP Fleet, DC-3 Airways Team Member, MAAM-SIM
September 25, 200520 yr Thanks for the link, beautiful repaint!Oops I just realized I spelled it To-Air and it should be Tol-Air.Anyway that would be great if those 2 birds were repainted in this awesome model.
September 27, 200520 yr Hi Alex, today I've create a repaint of the Tol-Air Services DC-3:With Mark Beaumont's great DC-3 Repaint Templates it was not much work (Thank you Mark :)).The MAAM-Sim DC-3 is the best airplane you can buy for the FS2004.I'll upload the repaint at Avsim in a few hours.GreetingsTim Greetings Tim My files on Flightsim.to i5 12600K | 32Gb | RTX 4080
September 27, 200520 yr Thank you very much!Just one question, would it be possible to blend in the windows more like on the picture? They appear to be the same color as the blue stripe and are not see-through.Unless the model doesn't allow it, then nevermind!
September 27, 200520 yr Hello Alex,>Unless the model doesn't allow it, then nevermind! This is the problem :)Unfortunately you can't paint the windows of the DC-3.GreetingsTim Greetings Tim My files on Flightsim.to i5 12600K | 32Gb | RTX 4080
September 28, 200520 yr No worries, thank you for the repaint! I look forward to cruising around the caribbean with this paint now. Thanks!!!
September 28, 200520 yr Tim is right on this one. On the latest, GMAX model, it is not possible to 'texture out' the windows, or move them about, as used to be possible with the older FS2000/FS2002 versions. Why? Simple. Reflections. The modeller has the choice of either having reflectivity or transparency, but not both. In the old format, there was only the latter option, so we used to paint on the reflections, if you remember; now, clearly, it would be daft not to take advantage of reflectivity in FS9.So to change windows, we have to change the model. There will be a seven window cargo model released in due course (the present one has eight each side, a la Pionair) but as every cargo aircraft in the world has done different things to its windows, it's not really possible to produce endless models for these variants. So now you know! Hope this helps to clarify things a little,MarkMark "Dark Moment" BeaumontVP Fleet, DC-3 AirwaysTeam Member, MAAM-SIM[a href=http://www.swiremariners.com/cathayhk.html" target="_blank]http://www.paxship.com/maamlogo2.jpg[/a] _________________________ Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumont VP Fleet, DC-3 Airways Team Member, MAAM-SIM
