Anyone care to take a stab at a Buffalo Airways repaint for the MAAM-SIM DC-3? Buffalo Airways is based in Hay River, NWT (Canada) and flies a regular scheduled service from Hay River to Yellowknife. The majority of their flying, however, is charters and cargo to various locations throughout the far north of Canada. I do believe it is one of the very few places in north america where you can still book a flight on a DC-3. I hope to be able to ride it for real one day! Ruahrc (how do you pronounce your name?)We don't have a model as yet to suit the Buffalo ladies accurately, but will do presently. I did paint three of them up for FS2002 (www.swiremariners.com/dc3FS8.html) but have been holding on any paints in FS2004 for the above reason.As for the Basler-engined monstrosity you add to the bottom of your post ... NO! :) What a horrible-looking thing! Can one elighten the ignorant on what is different about the Buffalo Airways planes? I thought they were standard C-47's, most of them acquired from the Canadian Air Force. Do they have different engines or something?Ruahrc

Off the top of my head I believe they are all basically ex-C-47s, yes; Buffalo call them all DC-3s which they may well be if they have been reclassified as such for civilian use. Or, indeed, some still may be technically C-47s. Without looking up all their individual records, I would guess that most are C-47A models. These were C-47s but with a 24 volt instead of 12 volt electrical system. I would also guess that they are all carrying Pratt and Whitney 1830-92 engines; it would be unusual for any one operator to mix in Wright Cyclone-engined aircraft because of the issue of spares and maintenance.C-GWIR that you link as a 'later' livery is in fact just an oddball scheme; all the 'planes you show are current. I painted up three of them for FS2002 only because there are livery differences, nothing else. The FS model was the same.
