Aerosoft EICAS/EFIS hardware and the 767PIC

Recommended Posts

Hi All... Thought I would share this in the hopes that someone knows how to contact Laurent Crenier of the Wilco 767 PIC team. This is a reply to a message posted to Andrew McLean in the Aerosoft Australia Website forum (www.mcp747.com) concerning the new EFIS/EICAS hardware they are soon to release...Original Post:"Well this is a real kick in the pants..."Laurent Crenier who wrote the interface for us with the PIC767 says he doesn't have any more time to make updates to PIC767 so I'm afraid that the EFIS/EICAS combination wont' work. There's also no 'hooks' in the DLL which means I can't even 'hack' into it myself. The PIC767 will be as good as we get.Cheers,Andrew McLeanAerosoft Australia"Does this mean the only supported software for the EFISEICAS is going to be PM and the Aerowinx 747?I have the PM software but I don't use it that often (too many networksoftware problems that PM won't address). The plane I fly most is the 767PIC and I was really looking forward to the EFISEICAS products and it's a real shame that it looks like 767PIC won't work...Oh well... maybe someone who is affiliated with the 767PIC project will step up and help get us the support we need...I still think the best investment for my flightsim hobby I've made so far is the Aerosoft MCP and I wouldn't trade it for anything...Thanks for letting us know about this snag and maybe by the time you're ready to ship them a solution is found...Best regards,Ken"Andrew then posted this response:"Hi Ken,Unfortunately that's the news. The add-on's like EFIS/EICAS were briefly talked about with Laurent but he said that it probably wouldn't happen.Yes, it is a pity, and to be honest, there's probably only a few hours work for him to update his software. We'd do the rest here. He's had a child and changed jobs and he indicated that he didn't have any more time.I'm sure if you contacted him on the www.avsim.com forums he *may* be interested. We'd be more the happy to send him the hardware. He already has a MCP.By the way, see the news section to read a little bit about the hardware.Cheers,Andrew McLeanAerosoft Australia"As you can see, Andrew is very willing to provide the hardware (free I might add) in the hopes that we can get an interface to use with the great hardware he's producing...If anybody knows Laurent or how how to get a hold of him or if you know someone on the original 767PIC team who is willing to work on the software interface please either post a message or email Andrew. There are alot of people who were expecting the Aerosoft EFIS/EICAS hardware to be compatible with the 767 PIC like the MCP but without the continued help of Laurent (or another 767 PIC team member), the EFIS/EICAS will be out of reach unless you own the PM software.Best regards,Ken Knightrangercat@bighornwireless.net

Hi Ken,I feel as frustrated about this as you probably but I feel you might get more responses by posting this in the 767PIC Forum.I just love this aircraft and having the MCP747 I also want the EICAS etc support for the 767.Cheers,
