FS2002 crashes every time after ATIS request..

Featured Replies

Every time I request ATIS information and after half way through, the FS2002 crashes. Now I don't ever request ATIS but accidentally when I press the key number corresponding to ATIS request, I know that is the end of my flight, and the FS2002 will crash! Does any one know the reason why FS2002 is crashing? I have tried to reinstall FS2002 but still the same. Is there a solution for this? Thanks in advanceShri

Do you use ATC during flight? Does it cause the same problems? The ATIS uses the same voice generation systems as ATC. It sounds like your system has a conflict with priorities, possibly with the IRQs assigned to your sound and graphics adapter.Check to see if your sound and graphics adapter are using the same IRQs. If so, try moving the sound card away from the graphics adapter to see if the sound will use a different IRQ.Open, directX diagnostic, and test your DirectDraw, Direct3D, and Sounds to see if any are causing problems. While you are on the sound page, you might move the sound acceleration lower to see if it fixes the problem.

do you use any 3rd party gauges? does it happen with EVERY panel or with a specific one?some gauges e.g AIMAP tend to cause hangs whenever ATIS is played
