Refresh rates and FPS

Featured Replies

Made an interesting discovery after reinstalling windows xp. When I reinstalled my LCD monitor drivers I set the refresh rate to 75 instead of 60. The next time I used FS9 my frame rates were terrible(about 1/2 of what I was used to. After a couple of days I tried changing the refresh back to 60 and viola, All was back to normal.sg

All LCD monitors have a `native` refresh rate and resolution. Changing it nearly always involves fps losses and graphic glitches - details should be in your monitor docs.Allcott

I run my LCD at 75 Hz - this reduces "tearing" slightly as I prefer not to use VSync. No problem running the monitor at a higher refreshrate, especially not when using the DVI output. Running something other than the native resolution will however make the image blurry and ugly.
