20" LCD monitor for FS2004

Recommended Posts

The reason I want a 20" LCD monitor is because it has the standard 4:3 aspect ratio and want to free up some desk space. On Friday I ordered a Sony SDM-S204/B LCD monitor but now I'm not sure if I should refuse shipment or give the monitor a chance. It has a very cool design and looks like a quality product. Does anyone one have this LCD and know how it performs in FS2004, especially for night flying. Will the 25ms response time make it hard to read taxi way signs while I'm moving. I'm upgrading from a Sony G420 19" CRT.

I got a 21" LCD. Very nice. However, make sure your computer/video card is fast enough to run the max resolution of the monitor. Otherwise, if you try to run your FS2004 at 1024x768 in order to get a better framerate, you'll get blurriness because the 1024x768 does not quite map to the 1600x1200.I had to remove my neat water effects and get the cloud fix in order to run fs at 1600x1200 with a good frame rate.Good luck!
