Hi Shane,Sorry to see you are having such a problem. I don't have any ideas right off the top of my head. But other people might be able to take a guess as to what's wrong, especially if you list your system specs and the version of video card driver you're using. Have you installed any software or updates lately?Regards,Jim

well i have a 9700 pro ati card pent 4 3.0 1 gig ram and a sb audiudgy card also a samsung 173t tft moniter installed the cat 4.6 but it was ok for a cpl days then this showed up in 2d and 3d i uninstalled them and went back to the 4.5's got the same thing started in 3d though then to the 2d no i am searching for viruses and such

Shane... did you try a clean install of the video drivers (using DriverCleaner to rid the system of all remnants) and then re-install DirectX.Hate to say this buddy, but it looks like your VC might be dying. I've seen what your screenshot shows before, and it didn't end well. Hoopefully I'm wrong about this.Greg

i used the ati uninstaller utility its gone now seems to come and go hmmm the card is only just over a year old :(do you havea link for the drive cleaner if it works better?shane

Get DriverCleaner here http://www.driverheaven.net/cleaner/ Follow the directions meticuously and it will do the job very nicely.I believe your card is overheating. I recommend you test this by removing the left side case cover and using a small house fan to blow air into the "coffin corner" where the VC lives. It may be nothing more than the GPU cooler going belly up (no great loss there... there are some nice aftermarket options that will do the job alot better).Greg

hi,some possibile causes i know from myself or friends:1. I had similar issues after one week with a new card. Simply one memory-chip from the card died. The Card worked perfectly under non-game conditions, so i didn't think of a hardware defect. But in games, when all memory is used, that bad memory caused me some of the screens u got.Enter Bios, look very closely for very small weird placement or colors in the pixels of the "dos-like" letters. This could give u a hint for a memory fault.2. Check your ram. Why? Because, if i remember correctly, lots of stuff is swapped from/to GraphicCard to MainMemory. Malfunction there could be "transfered" to Cards Memory (sorry can't explain better what a friend told me sometime).Check the card with the game also, after setting different AGP Aperture Size in Bios.3. Check Your power supply. I have seen such pics and complete hangups caused by not enough power lately. (2 hd's, 2 Cdr's, etc. with a 220 power supply, then the GraphicCard cut the edge.)4. Check Your systems temperature.5. last thing i remember was a defect on the agp port, caused by the MB badly screwed to the case.hope you find a solution, chris

how do you reinstall direct x cheers mark

Same problem here. It comes and goes. Mainly happens whenever I stress my 9700Pro. My card is nearly two years old and it's one of the first series cards which seems to have caused others problems now and then. I've come to the conclusion, the card is dying since it erupts whenever I make the card work or on cold boot. All my fans are working, even tried running without the case cover. I've tried various drivers, etc., swapped out monitors, mouse; all to no avail. Gonna RMA it back to Sapphire; but want to get an X800Pro before I do; but they're hard to find. So, I'm waiting patiently.

Update; Corruption was getting worse. I just replaced my 9700Pro with a new 9800Pro ($250.00). All corruption gone. Performance is exactly the same as far as I can tell. Just no more video corruption. Going to RMA the 9700Pro. Just couldn't justify spending $450 for an X800.
