Is a 15 ms response with LCD good ?

Featured Replies

I'm thinking of getting a 19" Sanyo LCD monitor that specifies it hasa 15 ms response time.Is this good enough for FS2004 Is it a linear relationship of 15 msallows for a 66 fps performance? Thanks for any feedbackMy alternate option is a new flatscreen 21" CRT by Samsung.I presently have a 19" CRT.Allen

Its SHARP not Sanyo.....I am not always dumb, only 76% of time. the rest of the time Im sleepingAllen

A 15ms response time is very good, especially for a 19". Be wary though, as the reported response time is mostly a function of how the manufacturer tested the display. There is no industry standard for testing these things, so naturally manufacturers test for the best reported response time. It's classic case of the testing driving the results that the marketing department wants.More research would be advisable before testing.Cheers,Greg

OK thanks I did some research and found that the Sharp must have "tweaked" response reports because it was not recommended by any of the byers' reviews. However the BENQ FP951 19" LCD was highly recommended as a gaming LCD even though its response time is reported as 25 ms.Anyway the retailler here says I can take it home for a 10 day trial with a full refund if Im not satisfied...Allen
