August 9, 200421 yr Just upgraded old MB of AMD 1600XP to:AMD 2800XPECS KT650A MB and Windows XPLoad the software, system crashes, stating 'Page Fault Errors', 'Not equal or less' and other mess. I figure new CPU, new RAM (512 of 2700) new OS, reformatted HD and new MB, that it must be the MB. The seller told me it could be a CPU problem, reset the MB down lower and put the old 1600 CPU on the new MB to see if it will boot and load. Does this seem crazy? When you turn the PC on with the new MB and new CPU, it reads it on BIOS and all correctly as "AMD 2800XP". But, he says this still may not be the MB. What do you think?Eric TSt Augustine, FL

August 10, 200421 yr Well, I put the old 1600XP CPU on the new MB, reduced the jumpers to 133 and then fired it up. Guess what? the new MB worked. SO, that means that it ISNT the MB, but the CPU, which is what the seller told me to check for. It will be going back this week.thanks,Eric
