bad ils for cyvr

Featured Replies

Hi guysI'm having problems with the ils at cyvr, both runways radios seem to pick both up but the lock is real screwy and the is no glidescope.does everybody have this problem?is there a way to fix it?thxFloyd

thanks for the feedback DanAt least I know i'm not the only one :-rollI guess you dropped that vancouver scenery for flywhat I would do for some good b.c. scenery,oh well (one day):-)FloydCypk

Have you tried my scenery for CYVR, nothing spectacular but I added gates, radar tower, hotel, new international terminal, second control tower, parkade, freighters in English Bay. It's available at this site and FlightSim.com. There is a patch also so don't forget that.It is nothing special, but surprisingly it was the 11th most frequent airport download at FlightSim.com, but coupled with the taxiway signs by Brendan Keith, the FS2k BC mesh scenery by Richard Gascon and the FS2k BCHarbours scenery by Tom Brooks,it adds a bit of authenticity.I don't want to make any promises but it has always been my intention to do a much more detailed job, I have all the necessary information from the CYVR engineering staff. I tried last spring but had all sorts of difficulty getting rid of the bumpy, dirty taxiway syndrome, and I became very discouraged. Maybe I should try again after Christmas.I cannot offer any advice re the ILS, I do know that I have set up a flightplan in FSNavigator from Frankfurt to Vancouver, set-off when I go to bed and land in Vancouver next morning after 10 hours! I use the STAR for 26L from the north (very dramatic approach) and the 747 comes straight-in on the ILS on auto-pilot.Incidently, I am recovering from a bout of pneumonia and I had to postpone the Flight Simulator Club meeting at the West Vancouver Seniors Centre until January 17 when I will be demonstrating a full install of FS2002 Professional Edition on the big screen - subject to me being well enough. The next meeting will be February 7 when we hope two members will demonstrate multi-player flying.NigelVancouver

Hi NigelI have been using your scenery and it makes a good improvement over the original. And its greatly appreciated.thx for the inputFloyd

I have been using your CYVR scenery for some time now Nigel. I love it. I have also been eagerly awaiting your new CYVR scenery or update. Sorry to hear that it was giving you some headaches. I will be downloading the files that you mentioned to add to the experiance. I used to live in the community of Burkeville at the east end of the airport and plan to do it some day if possible. Thanks for a great scenery package.http://www3.telus.net/dport1/Radar_small.gifRC3 - Just gotta' have it!http://www3.telus.net/dport1/Radar_small.gifhttp://www3.telus.net/dport1/dansig.jpg
