Hi all , i'm new to this forum and to the world of fs2004 , hope you will all excuse me for my bad english as i'm italian :-)...I have an hell of a problem that crashes fs2004 every time i try to play it. my config is : Amd 1,7 ghz ; 512 ddr ram ; geforce fx 5200 128 mb.when i run the game everything is fine but as i try to have flying lessons the voice of rod machado is not there and it won't happen anything at all. i tryed then to select a normal flight but as i use the throttle controls (f2-4) the game get stuck and the only thing i can do is press reset on my case. i tryed in safe mode and it's the same thing . i even tryed the game on my girlfriend computer (she has the same config as me exepted a geforce4 mx instead of my fx 5200) and the game run well even in the lessons ...i have the latest drivers for anything and direct x 9c ...What should i do ??Thanks , Frank.

Open your drive:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesFlight Simulator 9Soundlessons folder and double click on any of the *.wav files. It should open your default *.wav player, such as Windows Media Player. If it opens but doesn't play, then you probably are missing the compressed audio codecs. Visit the Tips and Trick sub-forum above, search for No ATC, Lost ATC, No Voices. If you open Windows Media Player, Tools, Player tab, ensure the download codecs automatically is checked. It may download and install the codecs for you.W. Sieffert

You gave us system specs, but didn't mention a sound card! If it's onboard what is the motherboard? If it's a separate coundcard what make and model. Have you tried updating drivers for either/both?Allcott

thanks all for the advice. minutes after i posted the topic here i tryed to disinstall and reinstall fs2004 and everything was fine :-)the strange is that i had already tryed that with no results ... maybe it's because i defragged the hard disk ??

Glad you got it sorted!Allcott
