October 8, 200421 yr Hello I bought a new computer two months ago and when I bought it, there were no x800 Pci-e available so I bought x600xt. It is a good card but it has limitations. I cant use FSAA or AF without losing FPS so now (finally), the great x800 is available and i
October 8, 200421 yr No zero benefit from adding more ram.As for the video card you will definiatly see an improvement particularly with aa and aniso as you mentined if it
October 8, 200421 yr "...will definiatly see an improvement particularly with aa and aniso"And you'll see these improvements at higher resolutions.Cheers,Greg
October 8, 200421 yr Hello Thanks for your answer. So if I get you right I will have the same FPS that I have now but with better quality with FSAA and AF. If that is the case I need to think again before updating to the X800xt because it costs 5890 swedish kronor (787,25 USD) .I need to know in what way Dual channel is better and in wich programs the performance is higher relative to Single Channel. Thanks in advanceNiclas
October 8, 200421 yr You will of course get higher performance too. But FS 2004 is more system demanding then video card like most other games if you run low detail it
October 8, 200421 yr "I need to know in what way Dual channel is better and in wich programs the performance is higher relative to Single Channel."You might think a bit before adding another Gig of RAM just to enable Dual Channel. I can't see any real return on investment in doing so. The promise of better performance from Dual Channel really hasn't been fully realized. Each application (and system) is different, but I'd be surprised if you saw more than a 5% increase in performance from going to a Dual Channel set-up. And even if you could see a 10% increase in performance in this sim (and I'm not convinced that you would see ANY) that's still alot of money to pay for just a bit more performance.Cheers,Greg
