I have two hardware profiles: default and gaming. My gaming profile is setup to correspond with Blackviper's recommendation. After installing the latest ATI catalyst/drivers when in gaming profile catalyst control center will not load returning an RPC unavailable error message...ati drivers are not installed. I've pinged the server...working as intended. John Franklin

Hi John,Did you install the drivers while running under your default profile?I too have a normal and gaming profile. I always install/uninstall software or drivers while in my normal profile. Also check that Remote Procedure Call Service is running in both profiles. It should be set to Automatic and should be left strictly alone as many other services depend on this service running.Mike

Hi Mike,Yes, I installed in normal profile. I then reenabled services that I believed might correct the problem. The installation of SP2 altered something that could only be undone by deleting the old gaming profile. After I did just that I created a new profile identical to the original and everything is now fine. John Franklin
